If wikipedia is correct he's on £1,000,000 a year which is just under £20k a week. We can offer £20k - £25k to convince him to come here and still not break our wage structure.

The Evian Manager came out in the Press talking about Rabiu and the link to Hull City. It would be strange for him to do that if there was nothing in it.

    Hi fellas, Spurs fan here.

I'm quite surprised at how highly you guys all rate Huddlestone to be honest, most non-Spurs fans don't seem to appreciate the definite qualities that he brings.

For a start I can guarantee he'll be the best passer of the ball you've ever seen at the KC. Seriously, he can pull off some absolutely majestic long range, and delicate threaded passes.

The one issue that we've had with him is that because he's such a big bloke he's not all that mobile, and so neither the defensive nor the box to box positions really work for him. If you can get some energy next to him in midfield to mop up, then you can just plonk Thudd in the middle and let him pull the strings, releasing your wingers and strikers. I can see him working well with Boyd as they're both intelligent players.

Hudd and Livermore haven't been paired together much so not sure how that would work, possibly quite well, though there's not much of a goal threat from either of them.

Spurs fans will be sad to see him go, he's been a great servant over the years but the club has just grown a little too fast for him. Would have loved to see him score at the Lane one more time to get rid of the 'fro.

We had Alex Bruce playing the sitting role last season and you're surprised we're excited about signing Tom...

Ive rated him ever since I saw his debut at centre back for Derby. Wasn't he 15 or something? He was enormous even then.

    cheers for the honest appraisal.

Cheers Wandering - here's hoping the deal goes through. If we get both Huddlestone and Livermore I'll be more than confident of us staying up :D

Absolutely. I predicted us to stay up more in hope as I love this club - but if we get these two i'll start to truly believe.

I rate him highly, his passing with both feet is phenomenal.

P.S. Never really warmed to you guys when you were last in the prem under Brown but with Brucey in charge, 2 Spurs players and Boyd (one of my favourite players since I saw him play for stevenage years ago) I'll be rooting for you every week.

Cheers Yid, thought you might have liked our win at Arsenal if only for the week before we did you as well. Whatever happened to John Bostock? Do you remember Dean Marney?

Might as well post this observation on this thread as well...

I looked on the City Facebook page earlier (a good few hours before twitter exploded with all this stuff), and someone had asked when the kit numbers would be out. City replied 'In a day or two...'

    A possible hint?

It may have been nothing of the sort, but reading between the line and all that...

He was our best manager to date.

Bostock's gone totally off the boil. He's been released by Spurs this summer and joined Antwerp. The final straw was his stint playing under Ryan Nelsen at Toronto, apparently he was phenomenal in training and then couldn't be bothered to turn up in games so they sent him home.

Dean Marney not so much. Barmby on the other hand <ok>

Bostock is another one who threw it away, like on the other thread about Ranger.
