Putting aside our own players whom we all hope to shine at some point, are there any players from rival teams big or small, you expect to do well or hope to see perform to a high standard? I'll go first. I haven't included Bale as God knows where he'll end up. Roberto Soldado, Tottenham. Looking to see if he can continue scoring and live up to the hype. Peter Whittingham, Cardiff City. I actually believe this guy is underrated and I'm surprised no one in the PL took a look at him. Creative. Good passer. Lukaku, Chelsea. Got what 17 goals in his 35 appearances for West Brom. Interested to see if he can continue that form at Chelsea. Ashley Westwood, Aston Villa. Good passer who has made the move up from a lower division. Tries to model himself on Michael Carrick. Not a bad thing. Expect to see him called into England squad later this season. Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Norwich. Could be a very interesting transfer. Think in all competitions over two seasons for Sporting Libson he managed to score 38 goals. Not bad. No offence but how the hell did Norwich persuade him to join?
Ravel Morrison is going to be playing in the Premier League this season too. It'll be interesting to see how he performs and if he is still showing signs of his attitude problems which are supposedly behind him.
Altidore of Sunderland! Scored for fun in a mid table side in Holland and then scored 4 goals in WCQ in June for the USA. From what I've heard/read from Sunderland fans he's not found his goal scoring boots yet, but has had great build play. Once he finds his shooting boots I think he'll be Sunderland's biggest threat.
Didn't he play at hull at one point? Don't think he set the world alight though I'm sure he's improved.
Luis Suarez, Arsenal David Luiz, Barcelona Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United I think those four will really make a big impact this season
No offence taken re RVW but I think the one to watch will be Leroy Fer. If you look at the majority of our summer signings there's a little bit if "Norwich?!" To then which suits me fine but we are a club with a great fan base, one of only a few debt free, and clearly adding well to try and become a stable mid table team. Another to watch IMO..Bony at Swansea.
From the Baggies fans I work with they say Lukaku is a good goal scorer but has the habit of losing the ball easy.
Yeah, on loan from Villareal. Scored 1 goal all season. Missed some easy ones though, but most hull supporters were impressed by everything but his goal scoring He was only 19 at the time though, and playing in a pretty dire Hull side. He progressed a lot at AK Alzmaar, they really worked on his technical ability. He scored all sorts of goals, poacher goals, headers, some long range rockets, goals after dribbling by 2-3 defenders. He's really got it all, it's a matter of whether he can adapt to a higher quality league.

He might, he now has a manager that actually plays with more than one tactic throughout the season... Perhaps he could find one that suits Chamakh.
This IS his one fault tbh, but he was only 19 last season when he played for the Baggies. Plenty of time for him to improve that part of his game. I think, at this rate, he may well be world class in 2-3 years time.
