I have van Persie, Soldado and Dzeko as my strikers in the Metro. With a pretty decent midfield of Michu-Ramires(for match week 1)-Coutinho-Wanyama
I've thought long and hard about this year's selection - then ignored it and done what I always do. Cram your team with players you think will score a bucket load of points and then eke out a squad with the balance. Seems to work!
I overlooked that he' playing two games. He was always my first choice attacker for this season, having been involved in 50% of Villa's goals last season. Then i guess i have to put him in the team, but who will make way? Lambert will be inspired after England debut and will score hat trick against WBA, Lukako also has two games against fairly poor opposition, while Dzeko at the price of 7.5 is a bargain, he scores constantly.
Dzeko probably will not play that often, Lukaku may not play much either. Switch one of them for a £4mil person who will play,
Why wouldn't he play(Dzeko)? He started all of the pre-season games, while Negredo and Jovetic fought for the other attacking slot. And Aguero is still returnig to full fitness. And while i'm not sure which attacker will start for Chelsea, it doesn't seem that either Ba or Torres are ahead of Lukaku in the pecking order. But I might sacrifice Dzeko for Benteke
Hart Henderson Kompany Mertesacker Johnson Garrido Brayford Santi Cazorla Nolan Schneiderlin Kim Hernandez Van Persie Lambert Bony I play 3-4-3 Hart - Man City are notoriously hard to score against, much of that down to Kompany and Hart's saves. Henderson - Cheap bench player. Kompany - see Hart. Mertesacker - target for free-kicks & corners, Arsenal have also been good defensively (despite what many will tell you) in recent years. Johnson - I think he's crud irl, but always does well in FF. Shoots a lot and can score goals. Garrido - lots of assists last year, likely to play regularly. Bench player. Brayford - Highly rated, cheap as chips, not a bad option off the bench. Bench player. Santi Cazorla - People look for him in the Arsenal midfield to pull the strings. Will get assists galore and capable of scoring a few too. Vice captain. Nolan - A cheaper Lampard. Scores lots every season, pretty much drives West Ham on. Lovely FF player. Schneiderlin - With Vic next to him he'll play further up and will become a complete CM. Hopefully lots of assists and a few goals too. Hernandez - Cheap and average last season, but with Bony and Michu to aim for, his crosses should get him a few assists. Can cut inside too. Kim - Might take Hernandez's place if he starts well. Heard great, great things about him and for his price he's worth the risk. Bench player. Van Persie - You just know he's going to be worth the outlay. Think most will have him. Captain. Lambert - Slight gamble, but he scored 15 last season, will guarantee penalties and will assist (9 last year). Bony - Reckon he'll outshine Michu this year. Drogba MKII, should score for fun. Was him or Lukaku but think Bony will play more. I really wanted to put Hazard, Mata, Kagawa, Ruiz, Wanyama Clyne and Ivanovic in, but couldn't find the right balance with matching finances.
Hmm well then Dzeko may play a few games but as soon as Aguero is back he will be gone i presume. Well if Lukaku does start most games like you he will be in my team but yea Benteke is a safe bet at the moment
I'd say you are wrong, as long as he can score goals - "Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that Edin Dzeko will play a central part in his plans - saying he will build the Manchester City attack around the Bosnian" http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/226335.html http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...uel-Pellegrini-has-given-me-new-start-at-City http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...manchester-citys-edin-dzeko-delighted-5392685 http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/0...ce-under-new-man-city-boss-manuel-pellegrini/ You get the idea!
