A transfer to QPR means Mr.Redknapp is in play, so no fear that it will be a hush job. <laugh>

Wind up your window Harry! We know!

"Apparently Watford want Tom Carroll on loan"

Good idea (they almost got to the PL last season) ??
Would prefer a PL club but they probably see him as too risky.

I must have missed that bit. I just saw the attribution to Churchill. As you say, it's anecdotal anyway.

Good news. I think he'd fit in well there and not too far from home. Not sure any Prem teams would be willing to give him much game time, could be a Kane at Norwich scenario.

I like Watford as a location. It's less of a risk for tommy than a prem club and Zola could get the best out of him. If even half of these midfielder rumours are true he will struggle for game time with us this year.

From Goal.com, so it must be true.

    http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...ove-for-barcelona-starlet-bartra?ICID=HP_HN_2

The Spain Under-21s defender is also a loan target for Valencia and Villarreal but is keen on a move to Spurs, who have recently sold Steven Caulker to Cardiff City

Tottenham have made an approach for Spain Under-21s international Marc Bartra of Barcelona as the Premier League club look to reinforce their squad with a young central defender.

The Barca academy product, who has loan offers to remain in La Liga from Valencia and Villarreal, is aware of Spurs' interest and open to a move to English football.

Any deal for the 22-year-old is also complicated by Barcelona's ongoing pursuit of a starting centre back, however.

The Spanish champions have seen cash offers for David Luiz and Daniel Agger rejected by Chelsea and Liverpool - with the Blues demanding £43 million for the Brazilian, as exclusively revealed by Goal - but, should they be successful in brokering a deal for either, the Catalan giants would still prefer to loan Bartra out and assess his development over the course of the coming season rather than sell now.

They have also enquired over the availability of Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen, only to be told that the versatile Belgian is not for sale.

Bartra, meanwhile, made 16 appearances for Barcelona last season and is needed there at least until their own new signing is made.

The sale of England international Steven Caulker to Cardiff City coupled with William Gallas's exit under freedom of contract has left Tottenham short of personnel in central defence.

Though Andre Villas-Boas and Franco Baldini, their recently appointed director of football, had negotiated a deal with Steaua Bucharest for Vlad Chiriches, the Romanian club's owner blocked the sale.

The pair also explored the possibility of signing Rolando from Porto, before pulling out of the move amidst concerns over the Portugal international's fitness and the £5.1 million asking price. Villas-Boas's current strategy is to bring in a younger central defender with the potential to develop into a first choice.

Well it seems like what we'd want. Young guy who could be great in 2 years and solid now. Bartra might be out of our reach though. Can't see barca selling. Loan deal wouldn't be awful if we could get someone like vlad the year after of course...

Alright lads, Hull City fan here. We're hearing at our end that we've agreed deals for Huddlestone (perm) and Livermore (loan), but personally think it's too good to be true. Any of you know anything about this?

We're hearing the same fella. Livermore looks very likely, but apparently Hudd has options.

I read something about 5 mins ago that both are heading your way, so you could well be right.

It appears that this week is going to be a clear out week for us. <ok>

i would not be averse to them going to Hull with them being my official 3rd team (although i do like Swansea too). I think both would be superb signings for Hull.

No offence to the Hull fan, but reckon Hudd could probably do better - he'd be a good signing for any bottom half club.

I reckon that's a great move for Livermore though, for all parties.

None taken - Huddlestone is too good for us, it wouldn't surprise me if he went to somewhere like Sunderland or Fulham.

Livermore would be a class signing as well. Centre midfield could suddenly go from a weak area to our strongest in a day!

Good luck for the season, you've made some very good signing and, with or without Bale, think you'll make the CL this year <ok>

    Clear out indeed.

Parker, Hudd and Jake all out in one week. Where does that leave us in CM?

Sandro, Paulinho, Dembele, Sig, Holtby, Carroll, Capoue (?) - Should be sufficient, lots of quality there.

Hudd would be an amazing signing for you but I'm not sure he'd be game for a relegation thrash. It's a decent move for Livermore, and he will do a good job for you. Don't expect any goals or killer passes though.
