Mark, not just those 2 as per this interview with Ben Foster: http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/foster-praises-baggies-strike-force-985799.aspx
Seems to suggest that he hasn't. http://labottegadelcalciofilo.com/2013/08/12/udinese-sporting-director-on-vydra-an-wba-no-medical/
Could be a big loan fee plus they retain his registration. I for one, am now going to forget about this fixation with Vydra. Now it's all in the past. Change happens, and I'm excited by the future.
Good luck to him I am with the rest that said if he does not want to be here then we don't want him. Would love WBA in the cup and to turn them over! Problem is it puts questions against peoples word, cant take anything they say as gospel!
With only 1 year left on his contract it'll be interesting to know what renewed terms the pozzo family have with him, if they've retained his registration and got his salary paid plus a bit for the year then its good plus he gets a years prem experience before transferring to watford.
The issue here is that football is ever-evolving - something said a month or two ago may not be applicable today. If Fabbrini and Acuna hadn't signed (either could have potentially rejected a move to us) then it would have been very disappointing to see Vydra sign for WBA. But as it happens, we have formidable and varied forward line (arguably the best in the division) to carry us through this season, without Mr. Vydra. Ten goals scored in three games is clear evidence for that. If he ever does come back to the Vic, then of course I would welcome him back with open arms - he's a very good footballer. If not, then that's fine - unlike the days before the Pozzos, quality will always be replaced with quality.
Of course he might also be thinking about his interntional career - if Czech Republic made the World cup he might have a decent chance of a call up if he's playing in the premier league. I'd have been hacked off if he;d have been on a long term contract and asjked for a transfer but this, in my view, is a little different especially, as seems to be the case, they gave him options
I just hope that for his own good he does not become too friendly with Anelka, who seems to know all the best ways to get a move when he feels like it. He certainly would not go down as a loyal player.
Makes even more sense, he gets a year in the prem learning the ropes probably not an everyday choice but hopefully a minimum of 10 games if he stays injury free. That means if we get promoted we have an experienced premier league striker within the pozzo stable that can be transferred back to us for final polishing before he's sold to Man City for 100million...... well something along those lines.
Then the alarm clock rang and you fell out of bed. More than likely a year to see if he can actually cut it at the top level (many a good striker found it hard going in the premier league), hope that he can and at the end of the year sell to the biggest bidder based on what he has achieved to save him walking away for nothing. If he does not shine and we get promoted chuck him our way on a three year deal and hope that in that three years he can actually prove himself. Good luck to the lad, hope he does well, he obviously did enough last year to warrant clubs chasing his services, he has his chance now he needs to grab it with both hands as these types of opportunities don't come round that often.
Makes sense with his contract situation; doesn't look like he was going to extend so this gives them a chance to sell him at profit in either Jan or next summer or agree a new deal then.
Is it possible that because he's on loan from Udinese, and we're owned by the same family, that there will be a clause that he can't play against us if we're drawn against them?
Doubt it - but wouldn't it upset Daily Mail, Hollowhead, Leeds/Leicester fans if there was.... I'd wet myself laughing.
The lads not having much luck!!! out with a hamstring injury.. starting season on the bench and yesterday WBA sign to 2 more forwards... i wonder how much game time he can expect... perhaps he was ill advised... perhaps he should consider changing his agent...
