Its the truth Celtic and rangers chose carefully which charities they associate with and those they dont. Celtic do not support the British Legion - like they have a choice to They wont stop a celtic fan wearing a poppy if they so wish though, indeed i'd imagine they'll have a poppy on their shirts
I didnt go to a Catholic school either, I just actually went instead of skiving round the back of the huts sniffing permanent markers.
I was trolling along ... Just had a look today and seen this alive! Just to comment that Celtic do not allow ANY outside organisation to collect inside CP as Celtic donate to charities through their own charitable foundation: http://www.celticfc.net/home/charityFund/aimsSupport.aspx A Celtic spokesman said " We don't do collections in the grounds for anything "
Let me put this simply to you Rocket. The British Army murdered innocent civilian members of my community in cold blood. Cameroon stood up and said sorry, and I, on behalf of myself alone accept the apology. But I'm still not going to chuck money at a Para's old boys club so those murderers can easily wind down their latter years.
: "We don't do collections for anything" Is that so. On 13th December 2003 a charity badge was sold (ÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃââÃÆââââ¬à ¡ÃâìÃÆââ¬Â¦ÃâáÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¡ÃÆÃââââ¬à ¡ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã1 donation) at Celtic Park on behalf of The Celtic Charity Fund. The principal beneficiaries were motor neurone disease charities, as former Celtic player Jimmy Johnstone had been diagnosed with this disease. A second charity badge was available at Celtic Park on 25th September 2004. The badge was a fund raiser for The Brother Walfrid Memorial Appeal. On 29th April 2007 a third Celtic Charity Fund badge day was held. A 40th anniversary Lisbon Lions pin was available for a ÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââ¬Â âââ‰â¢ÃÆÃâÃââÃÆââââ¬à ¡ÃâìÃÆââ¬Â¦ÃâáÃÆÃâÃâ ââ¬â¢ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¡ÃÆÃââââ¬à ¡ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã1 donation (minimum) before the home match v Hearts. On 11th May 2008 a fourth Celtic Charity Fund badge day at the Celtic v Hibernian SPL match was held, with a new Celtic Cross badge sold. On 24th May 2009 Celtic held their fifth Charity Fund badge day at a Celtic v Hearts match. On 25th September 2010 Celtic held a Charity Fund badge day for CHAS. A heart shaped badge was available for a donation. Sellers were at turnstiles before the match v Hibernian. So there you have it. Just five weeks ago, Celtic Football Club allowed charity sellers to punt merchandise at the turnstiles. I would say that makes Celtic FC despicable, deceitful liars. But then we already knew that. You better go back to bed Pud.
Read the link in my post ... that answers that! Answers the rest of the arguement The quote should read " We don't ALLOW OUTSIDE OR 3RD PARTY collections in the grounds for anything " All charity funds are raised by the Celtic Charity Fund - as per link and as per your example. So, no point keep arguing it ... Celtic haven't banned the poppy, just banning 3rd parties - NOT LINKED TO THE CELTIC CHARITY FUND - from collecting in Celtic Park.
And let me put this simply to you Mick. The world has moved on. Ireland has moved on. There have been many atrocities ON BOTH SIDES. You don't want a to buy a Poppy, fine, that's your choice. My whole argument is not aimed at individuals such as you but at Celtic for refusing the charity permission to sell them at Celtic Park - that is shameful.
Fixed...it is not specific to the poppy, it applies to ALL CHARITIES as Celtic raise Charity funds via their own orrganisation as pointed out previoulsy! http://www.celticfc.net/home/corporate/StadiumRegulations.aspx
Why? Because I think it's shameful that Celtic have refused a charity permission to sell the Poppy at Celtic Park? I think that makes them sad, very sad, and you too if you think it's right,
Celtic represent me as they do other Celtic fans. I would prefer the club not to take any side on the matter rather than be bullied into accepting the huge social pressure to conform to the idealistic hero worship of the British Armed Forces.
By refusing permission Celtic are taking sides. They are taking the side of their Irish support who are a minority. Celtic are a BRITISH club and it's heart warming to know you like something British.
