Surprised that some of the winners haven't commented on the thread, looks like a lot of effort was put into it for not a lot of praise. Well I will say well done on the thread Dilli even though I didn't win anything you ragbag
Have to put my hand up and say that includes me. Apologies, Dilli and others involved, I appreciate the work and effort involved and you have my sincere thanks - needless to say. In mitigation, I have had to deal with some pretty heavy and worrying stuff these past few days and have only paid fleeting visits to the board. Fortunately, matters seem to be resolving themselves and today I had a little good news, in that I have been invited to France again to address a writer's group about my work. I did this two years ago and thought it went well but you can never be sure..... were people just being polite etc. Anyway, a consensus was taken and, by unanimous vote, the group agreed to invite me again this year as opposed to asking someone new to give a talk. I'm told by my contact that this has never happened before (seems I have a fan club) so, as you can imagine, I'm over the moon (thought I'd show you how original I can be). Anyway, "Best Poster"??? Of course I'm gratified to have been chosen but, as with art and music, writing is very subjective so it could have been any of us. There are many excellent posters on here, particularly the usual suspects who regularly post: too many to name individually. Suffice to say that I thoroughly enjoy your input whether I agree with it or not and would like to thank you all for making this board an entertaining place for me to visit and participate.
Dilli,.my sincere apologies , in hindsight I should have thanked you much earlier than now For all the references made to your drinking habits it doesn't appear to have affected your judgement or sense of humour .It is with great honour that I accept your award .All jokes aside.I appreciate that some effort went into your choices and mine aside a very accurate selection made of all the 'winners"
