after what I have heard today the HDM have a LOT to answer for ... they have stoked the fire on a non subject ...

to put it simply .. the Allams have said what NT said a few weeks ago ... the only difference is the badge change next year .. football wise WE ARE NOT CHANGING ... you got that people ?

as a result .. dont expect any "exclusives" anymore ... the allams have thrown them into the naughty tomb

If they weren't actual quotes they'd be suing them.

They may have regrouped, give it some thought & selected a scapegoat.

Given the Club are sending out info and adverts calling us Hull Tigers, I'd say you've heard the sound of rapid back peddling.

Nope. I mean what I posted.

They also said that some of the "Hull Tigers" badged stuff was done in error and apologised, only to do it again.

The whole Hull Tigers thing has been a **** up from start to..where ever it's up to, and this confusion was pointed at when it first appeared.

Only a fool would swallow the cobblers about it being only commercial, as even that makes no sense.

I said this days ago. People will always believe what they want to believe sadly, even from that disgrace of a rag, especially if it's bad news.

Gosh, you don't mean that the Sunderland supporter could have a hidden motive of causing trouble between club and supporters. :emoticon-0111-blush

The quotes from Mr Allam seemed pretty cut and dried to me.

If they wish to counter it, they should say so, publicly, and end the substantial confusion that there currently is.

    Simple.

FFS, I'm only a pleb in life and even I know this.

Just tell us what's happening, in your own words, not through a paper, and then we know.

Okay name this source you are quoting, if you can? The Mail are not going to miss-quote AA, like someone else said he would be sueing them and they are not going to risk that. It is more likely that the Allams are ****ting themselves over the fans reaction and the bad press. They thought that it would be accepted and have now found that it has not been.

The word City is 'common' and 'irrelevant'. That's what he said, and the mail are playing a dangerous game if they are fabricating quotes. That to me suggests that if Dr Allam gets his way it won't be long before we lose the City from our name. Oh yes, and how dare the mail suggest that some people are pissed off with this decision!

Precisely. There is no way in a million years the HDM would print something as a direct quote if it wasnt a direct quote. It wouldve been 'according to insiders' or 'the HDM understands'. And if he didnt say those things the Allams wouldve come out within 10 mins of the article appearing and denied them, threatened the HDM with legal action and hence Sky and no other media outlet wouldve run the story. Also we wouldnt have had the follow-up clarification qupotes from the club.

Come on people, think about it.

And then he changed the signs at the training ground which is purely football related.

Yet the HDM somehow didn't mention that on e again missiles were thrown, this time at officials, on e again at a rugby match.
That would have been front page news if it happened at City with police studying videos for months.

Agree that HDM has misled fans and national media over this.

"Allam exclusive: We WILL be called Hull City Tigers... HULL City Tigers will be the new name officially adopted by the club in the Premier League.
Owners Assem and Ehab Allam have confirmed their intention to re-brand Hull City by dropping the 'AFC' and putting the emphasis on 'Tigers'...

    http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Allam-exclusive-called-Hull-City-Tigers/story-19634384-detail/story.html#ixzz2bqAeh19V

Most people read this as our TEAM name is changing THIS season, It took a national journalist to actually ask the Premier League if a name change had been applied for:

Agree HDM misled the fans and national media into thinking the TEAM name was changing THIS season:

"Allam exclusive: We WILL be called Hull City Tigers

    By Paul Baxter, sports editor
HULL City Tigers will be the new name officially adopted by the club in the Premier League.

Owners Assem and Ehab Allam have confirmed their intention to re-brand Hull City by dropping the 'AFC' and putting the emphasis on 'Tigers'..."

Cue the hysteria and piss-taking from other football fans.

It took a national journalist to actually ask the Premier League if any name change had been applied for (which it hadn't).

It was a local journalist that checked with the Premier League. But, it looks like you stopped reading too early as Mr Allam says it's Hull Tigers outside Hull and Hull City Tigers in Hull until next year, when both will change.

The fact he went about it the wrong way with the authorities shouldn't detract from his stated wishes. They already use Hull Tigers as the team name in messages to other Clubs etc. despite the clarification and release to the media.

Dutch, is there any chance you could narrow the banner in your signature a bit? It's making a mess of using the forum on my iPhone.
