When we were planning the quiz night for Andy Dawson's testimonial, Dawson said something about Cairney being the team's star man on quizzes. He was being deadly serious. He could if we had the balls to play him over a 'grafter'.
Sorry but your argument is flawed. Its like saying - I am only 21 so I refuse to respect my elders or betters purely because they are before my time. There are some City fans who deserve a lot of respect for what they have done over the years but sadly aren't given any, especially by the youth of today who basically say "who gives a toss."
Some of those fans (at least 2 of them) deserve a massive pat on the back for what they did back in the dark ages for the club. Who said worse supporter? I said young and impressionable. I know because, believe it or not, I was actually young once. Its a shame that fans who deserve a pat on the back are instead being ridiculed or made fun of.
Chazz, I and many others think they are worthy of praise. Noteable fans, maybe important was the wrong word due to my lack of vocabulary, but they are well known for their deeds and respected.
With all respect to anyone who helped the club out back in the day or last week, unless they are in the news & They are seen & they stand out, few people will know who they are. It's like saying who are the people behind Mick Jagger, everyone knows him, but unless your a super fan, doubt anyone knows his manager/agent.
Anyway back on topic, Cairneys problem is his gait, the way he looks as if he is lumbering about. Add to that his defensive frailties and he is not the kind of player that Hull City fans warm to. The best passer of the ball by far, one of the most intelligent footballing brains we have (ok Deano said ,that!!!!) Burnsey was amazed because he was factoring in, same as BCB the thicko label.
I seem to remember a lot of people saying how thick David Beckham was, I certainly wouldn't mind being a few quid behind him now.

My dad turned 60 on Saturday not missed a home game in about 20 odd years and he still has no idea who you are on about and he has been involved for years. Whether you are 21 or 60, i will respect you all equally. Age is not something that matters to me, it is what you have done for the club. I have no idea who the moderators on this forum are, or who these brilliant fans you speak of are. I have probably seen them at night away games over the years when there was about 100 of us there, just because i don't know them doesn't mean i wouldn't respect them if i knew what they have done. I am just saying just because i am 21 doesn't make me any less of a supporter, i have just been lucky in that most of the years i have supported the club have been great one's.

I recognised quite a few of the people in Germany as I've been around and involved with various fan groups and fanzines over the year, but you know what ? I wouldn't know any of the moderators on here, and certainly wouldn't know if they were involved in anything back in the day. For all I know, OLM could be ****ing Angie Rowe, but unless his username is Angie_Rowe, how the **** would anyone know ? So, in my mind, not knowing the face of one of our moderators or pretending that having knowledge of who in the that crowd was important presumably 20 years back has absolutely no bearing on how good at swinging my big important fan dick around. As someone who was around with Tigers 2000 and other support/protest groups in the last 30 years, sat down for beers with people like Tom Belton to ask him what the **** was going on, told Buchanan he was a lying **** to his face, been misquoted by the HDM for their own purposes, and was actively involved in a fanzine in the 90s, I have no clue who you are talking about. People look different now to how they used to. Why didn't you just say who you meant rather than trying to score best fan brownie points. No one cares how big a fan I am or you are. We just care about City.
