To compete on all fronts teams need four. Assuming one has lost form, one injured or suspended, one one the pitch and one on the bench.
Rickie at no 1 but lost fitness and form in the latter part of the season and we really didn't take either of the cups too seriously either. If we want to fight for trophies we need four

Sunderland fail in a bid for Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne, according to the Daily Mirror.

The diminutive forward impressed in this summer's European Under-21s Championship, scoring the only goal in Italy's 1-0 group stage win against England.

In that video of the five goals I like no.4 very much, that´s how I can see him give us a great option for linking up with a midfielder and running through the defence....

 

Would love this move to happen it would show our ambitions.

Yes. If Cortese thinks it's value for money, I imagine he would pay that. That's £50k p/w.

Nor me, I can't see him having much interest in us. It'd be pretty damn awesome though.

 

Not really too worked up over Osvaldo. Either we offer him huge wages and he's only here for the money or he comes only because Roma forces him out of the club and he doesn't want to be here. I don't think that's good for the club either way.

OTOH, I think MP and NC are smart enough to realize this as well so they won't sign him unless they feel they can convince him this is a great place to be. Which may take some time even after he signs before his 100% in the Southampton spirit, which hopefully they also realize. So if we do get him, I guess I'll be okay with it and give them the benefit of the doubt that they can make it work.

But really, I think the odds are much bigger that it doesn't come to pass.

 

That was euros to be fair, about £45,000 per week would eclipse that.

 

Cant really see him joining us, hope this is not our final option, but if he did it would be amazing

 

Most players sign for clubs because they're being paid a good wedge. I really don't think there are many players, here for the love of the club.

Those who do, perhaps Kelvin etc. don't really have any other offers of a similar standing to Saints either.
