Bit unsure about my selection, quite happy but may have to do some shuffling

    -------------Mignolet------------
    Shawcross - Agger - Shaw/Lowton
    Fellani - Coutinho - Mata - Wilshere
    -----Lukaku - Bony - Soldado------

    Bench, Wanyama, Ward, Boruc.

Not sure about Lukaku if he doesnt play will either transfer him for some spare coin oru use Wanyama if he does well. Not stand out deals this year i can see. Also wanted to put some of Man city's new players in but i am just not sold on them yet.

So... from these posts, it looks like it's OK to reveal who's in your team... yes? (Someone tell me quick if not!)
SaintsSationally Bad's 15 (incl 4 subs, one on each line) looks like this. Realise I may need to change Shaw if the injury looks bad. Never done this before, so happy to hear any thoughts... have spent every penny on this line-up tho.

    Hart, Boruc
    Zabaleta, Jagielka, Mertesacker, Ivanovic, Shaw
    Schneiderlin, Fellaini, Lampard, Essien, Barry
    Berbatov, Van Persie, Hooper

My tip is, that you've picked a great team but not necessarily a great fantasy team. Defensive midfielders like Schneiderlin, Essien and Barry even if they have great seasons unless they bag a hatful of goals aren't going to get you many points (I mean, Morgan was one of the best midfielders around last year... And Damien bloody Duff got more fantasy points than him...). You basically need to maximise your team around three things; Goals, Assists and Clean Sheets (For Defenders and GK), with of course minutes played being a bare minimum. I'd also personally advise ditching one of your keepers and one of your defenders, keepers don't really get rotated so just pick a steady no.1 and stick with him, pick up any of the cheapest keepers you can find and if your no.1 gets injured then you can make a transfer. You also usually want to be playing 3 at the back, so you want 3 main defenders, like Zaba, Jagielka and Mertesacker, and then a cheap sub like Shaw or equivalent. So you could for example if you wanted get rid of Boruc and Ivanovic and replace them with 4.0m players then you could reinvest another 3m into your midfield or strikeforce, which is where most of your points will come from.

I'm not an expert but been doing it for a few years, hope that helps.

Changed mine up a bit, starting 11 is

    Begovic
    Luiz, Hangeland, Turner
    Michu, Walcott, Wanyama, ?
    van Persie, Dzeko, Soldaldo

I have £8M or £8.5M to spend on the Metro with my last midfield spot up for grabs. Got a few options -

    Coutinho (£8.5M)
    Paulinho (£8.5M)
    Fernandinho (£8M)
Taarabt-ho (£8M (should be taking set pieces for Fulham? Potential assists?))

Or something risky like Kim Bo-Kyung who should be playing in the hole for Cardiff at £6M allowing me to upgrade one of my other midfielders to Bale (!!)

    Thoughts?

On the official FPL, Wanyama is only 5 mil and Ramirez only 6, I would say either of these are a better option than Kim Bo-Kyung or Taraabt.

I'd go for Coutinho or Fernandinho. Think goals and assists. Also I don't think there's much point upgrading to Bale if he's leaving.

Pricing is all different in the Metro though, Wanyama is £7M and already in the team. What do we reckon of -

    Michu - Arteta - Paulinho - Wanyama

Doesn't leave me any change for the second week sub I wanted to make (Luiz for Baines @ an extra 0.5M). Don't know what the chances are of Fernandinho playing? If hes a starter next season then he could be a steal at £8M. Don't know how well Wanyama will score either. Alternatively if Fernandinho is worth a shot -

    Michu - Morgan - Paulinho - Fernandinho

    or even

    Michu - Wanyama - Coutinho - Ramires

With Ramires as captain with a double header in game week 1 and Baines in for Luiz from the start. Ramires can then be subbed out and with 0.5M spare I can swap for Arteta, Walcott, Lennon etc...

Don't you get a free wildcard at the end of the transfer window? That's probably when the important business happens, at the moment my team is just picked to get some cheap goals in the first two weeks.

I went for Wanyama because even tho he isn't the type of player you should put in a fantasy team, 5mil was just to good of an offer

Ok, you persuaded me, i'll play

    Boruc
    Gibbs-Ivanovic-Dawson
    Snodgrass-Coutinho-Walcott-Hazard
    Dzeko-Lambert-Lukaku

    Subs: Mcgregor, Riether Schneiderlin Debuchy

I will definitely add Benteke later on.

I've gone with him as Morgan probably isn't either he was the 9th highest placed midfielder in terms of points in the Metro game last year and I can see Wanyama getting a similar return.

Mikey has some good advice there. I tend to try and get a really good first eleven and then fill in the blanks with more risky signings. I also don't spend so much on defenders because they tend to accumulate less points, a bit like defensive midfielders, however with changes to bonus points who knows, you may well have the perfect side :)!

Why not add Benteke now, yes Villa have some harder fixtures but they play twice in the first week.

Made some tweeks, pondering if Lukaku will play enough and decided to switch for Benteke, had to make an extra million, so replaced Agger for Mertesacker and Boruc for Harper

Thanks Mikey - that helps a lot! I assumed the system did things like reward tackles, passes and interceptions - clearly not! So basically go with one goalie and a less defensive (and more expensive) midfield? Yes?

Yeah it would be nice if it did include all that, they're introducing tackles and whatnot into the 'bonus point' system, but that's only going to give you an absolute maximum of 3 points, and you won't even get that very often, whereas a goal for a midfielder alone is worth 4. So yeah, it's just all about the goals and assists really, even a player who is pretty average all season just by virtue of being up pitch and getting in and around some goals will outscore the best defensive mids, like I said before, Morgan was one of the best in the business but the likes of Adam Johnson, Walters, Sessegnon, Morrison, Larsson, Duff all outscored him in fantasy points despite being pretty rubbish in comparison.
