Ok, so I know I'm going to get a lot of grief with this post but I have to ask the question.... what is so amazing about Modric? I've watched every game this season and yes he runs his backside off but he must only complete 10% of his passes, easily gets bundled off the ball and rarely scores.... If he really has been saying he wouldn't mind going to a champions league club should the right offer come in I say get rid and use the money to get a couple of quality players.

I do also think he happens to be somewhat overrated with his lack of goals and assists my biggest issue, but there is no doubting he is a key player for us. We really need to keep hold of him.

How was that article a WUM? if you said is David Silva over-rated... then put your point of view across to City fans how would that be a WUM? How many assists did Modric get last season? How many goals did Modric get last season? Is Modric a fantastic tackler like De Jong or Mascharano? If giving the choice who would you take Silva or Modric?
If you don't think that the claims that Modric completes 10% of his passes and gets easily bundled off the ball are, quite frankly, ridiculous then I feel sorry for you. As somebody pointed out on your thread, Xavi only got 7 assists and 5 goals last season. Anyone who thinks that football is about those kind of stats is an idiot. Silva or Modric? Modric.
Agreed he is a very good passer and the part about him being brushed off the ball easy is a lot of bull BUT I still think he is over-rated.
To the OP... You have obviously never gone to a game and watched Modric play. I have sat in the away stands at games, and even the fans of opposing teams have commented on how majestic Modric plays. He glides over the park, he has the ability to control the pace of our game, and he is is one of the best passers of the ball any where in the PL. You, sir, are a complete numpty!
I can understand why some would says he's over rated. If you look strictly at goals and assist stats, he's not in the same league as VDV for example. BUT, If you watch him play, it becomes obvious what the DEAL is with Modric. He controls things. He is extremely comfortable on the ball and has the brains to know what to do with it when he gets it. He's also very tenacious when we don't have the ball. Solid and creative player. PLUS, he's getting better . . .
Fans that base their opinions on players on stats annoy the life out of me. Football is and will always be more than just stats.
