Tottenham are linked to Ince as well, they are probably going to be linked to everyone in case Bale goes and who avb has worked with before.
I wonder if Downing and Carroll link up any better at WH than they did here. Would be strange and annoying if something suddenly clicked and it was Downing assist, Carroll goal all through the season
With big sam, probably. You could see how Cole was better when he got there as well. Damn we just sold WHU 3 of our players..... that ever been done before ( within a year)???
Benyaoun, Torres, Meireles? No sure when Benayoun was sold though.. Not sure Cole was better, wasn't he out injured for most of the season after we got rid?
Nathan Dyer? I know its a Swansea one, but I am a fan (though he is not a top player, he would go in the very good average players block). I can picture him at Spurs more than us though.
I don't think he was? I remember he had like 5 assists in his first 2-3 games for WHU. Shout with those 3 forgot about Benny.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is targeting players to 'come in and improve the team' as hard work continues behind the scenes before the conclusion of the summer transfer window. The Northern Irishman has added four new faces to his squad ahead of the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League campaign, which kicks off this Saturday, August 17, at home to Stoke City. Rodgers is hopeful of increasing that number during the next three weeks, though, and has also revealed how further signings could alter Philippe Coutinho's role in the team. "There's a lot of work going on behind the scenes. Obviously it's not easy," the boss said. "We have seen that from other clubs' experiences as well. But I'm confident we will add to the team. I don't think there is any doubt that we need that. "The players that we've brought in have added great depth and support to the team, but I think for us now, that little bit of quality could really set us up for an exciting season. "Everyone at the club, the recruitment team, the board and ourselves, we are all working hard to make that happen, and hopefully we can. "There's money there available to get in the right types of players, but we don't want to panic and just bring in anyone. It has to be someone who can come in and improve the team." Expanding on his plans for Coutinho, Rodgers continued: "No question, Coutinho's best position is the No.10. "And once we get the right kind of quality to put on the sides, he will play in that central role. That is where he affects the game best. "At the moment, he has the licence to jump in and come inside - joining in and making passes, and we accommodate defensively when he does that. "But there is no doubt, his best position is in the middle." From LFC.com - I like the fact he recognises the squad is in place and we now need players that can come straight in and make a difference. The other encouraging thing is he states Coutinho's best position is in the number 10 role just behind the central striker and once he has quality out wide then that's where Coutinho will be played. I take it from that a wide player to come straight into the team to replace Downing is the next transfer target.
Stats show Stewart Downing from WHU could be a great addition. It is also mentioned he would run through a brick will.
Farfan, Juan Vargas, Zuniga ( can also play LB/LWB), Nico Gaitan,Menez, Ayew. Some good names out there that I think could come in and do a great job for us out wide.

Left back is definitely an improvable area, I've not seen him play before but I've only heard positive things about him.
Reminds me of a not as good Baines. Takes penalties, decent cross and looks to have decent pace. Not sure what he's like defensively though.
He's a more intelligent player than Enrique i.e he can keep the ball, play it and his output is very good (his crossing and set pieces). I think he has good pace as well. He doesn't dive into tackles and I would still say Enrique is probably stronger defensively. Real Madrid are linked with him as well which you could say is an endorsement of his ability.
