Is there a price you would let Agger go for?

Sell Agger? No way. For me we've already sold/loaned too many and not signed enough. I was kind of hoping we'd be going into this season with a stronger team than we finished last season but we aren't. By all means buy another CB but not one in one out (that applies to Skrts too). We are already too light on numbers, why would we want to make it worse?

It is irrelevant as stated above however. 15mil is all his money... its actually fair given his injury history.

well given his injuries and the fact he's 28 (4 more years?), I would probably want what we turned down last year from City, ie £25m

  5. Not sure but whatever it is, it needs to be a pound more!

Keep him, he's a good defender and loves the club.

  8. True but he is also one of the players I refer to as representing the unsuccessful last few years along with the likes of Johnson, Skrtel, Lucas, etc <ok>

Not sure what you're getting at here, you're surely not suggesting we need to offload everyone who's been here throughout the bad period?
That would include Gerrard then, presumably.
To my mind, we offload those who don't have a future with us- for whatever reason, i.e., not good enough, don't want to be here.

  10. Not all, just most. Out of all the players that have been here through that period, I'd probably keep Gerrard and Lucas, Agger would be my third. What I mean by it is those players have been there for a while and are part of the furniture. Players get used to situations and since we haven't been winning (League Cup aside), are they of a winning mentality? I don't really count Gerrard in this as he was here well before the period I am referring to. Lucas and Agger were about too but not established first teamers.

It isn't that I want to see these players leave, it is more wanting to see an end to a nightmare and move on to a new era. These players represent the former to me <ok>

Another player who "isn't going anywhere," despite being ready to.

Another vote of no confidence in Brendan Rodgers.

Another quality player lost, in mind if not in body.

"Rodgers is adamant Liverpool will add quality additions to their squad " says the Guardian, following up with the rejection by Diego Costa to stay with Atletico as proof of that. Or something.

Wasn't aware Costa was the only quality player out there...

    Don't rate Rodgers then?

  14. Despite A.Madrid denying a bid was submitted and ignoring the fact that A.Madrid are in one of the strongest leagues in the world with CL football this season.

    Excellent example <applause>

I'd probably take £20mil+ for him. A good CB normally costs around £10mil so would allow us to go get one and possibly another.

As much as Agger is probably our best CB, forwards to get past him quite easily. Not so much now, but a few years ago he'd go to ground way too easily in the tackle, and he's still easily beat with movement in the box.

Read it again, that is 22 mil in dollars so like 10.5 pounds. <doh>

I was going back and forth with Saint on this earlier in the thread. It reaches 20 mil pounds, gotta think about it ( ONLY if you have two players ready to come straight into the team, replacement and another CB, or replacement and another position).

Wasn't suggesting I'd take that offer stated above - think works out at about £14mil? I'm saying if they were to offer anything over £20mil then would probably think about it, assuming at this late stage we had targets lined up. I'd also only sell once a deal had been agreed for his replacement so we aren't left stuck with no one if a deal for his replacement falls through.
