Cut to the chase I think we need to splash the cash now.
We still need fullbacks and a midfielder.

Its good getting deals and freebies but to use an analogy. If you had a new home and you got some free items to help you start, you know you will still have to splash the cash on some luxury goods.

I think that's what we need to do right now. Don't wait to see how it pans out using gardener and colback and if it fails then spend. Be proactive and go and get them now, we have the cash and surely we will have numerous targets, some leaked some not.

So lets do the needful PDC, Persuade the board to spend a little and apply the finishing touches to what could be a promising squad.

Transfer fees are no guarantee for success though

A low spend could be a sign of working the overseas transfer market well

According to the echo our outlay so far is £30m on signing on fees, transfer fees and agents fees, deduct the £13m from mig, elmo and jm net spend £17m

I agree we should be spending more, reckon we will aswell mate

    Potentially :

    Huddlestone £5m
    Rose £7m
    Fernandes £6.5m
    Quag 10m euros or £8.5m
    Mavrias £2.5m
    Perruzi £3.5m
    Cissokho £4m
    Caluska loan to buy £1.7m

Not saying that we will buy all of the above but there's a canny bit dosh getting offered about there and thats just what we know of

It is, but surely there are targets with a reasonable price. Danny Rose for one, knows the squad and place already

I think PDC is paying the price for Keane Bruce and to a lesser extend Mons monetary outlay. I think this is the first year Short has set a strict budget and PDC needs to move a few more on.before he gets his "man with the keys". I think if there was a serious chance of getting Rose wed take it as Short would know its a safe investment. This is why Celustka has only joined on loan imo.

Why should we splash the cash? That hasn't worked in ANY of our last pre-season

Instead we should be calling for quality players to be brought in, which I trust De Fanti to do <ok>

The whole continent is struggling. There's value for money everywhere, except british players of course. The only thing that will cost us deep is household name, attacking player but our recruitment team isn't in the habit of signing household names. They're in the habit of creating them.
