Be very surprised, and happy, if the club spent £5m on a player. Especially Finnboagson. Thank **** Doyle is away to Hull though.
As a one off, they should...he still young so has sell on value! Especially after raking in over £40m!
Does anyone know anything about Finbo? Have you seen him play? Are we getting over excited about this player and setting ourselves up for a big disappointment just because of his price tag?
Face it, The Ginger tosser is getting **** all and after being pumped out of Europe and losing to the glamorous Dons in the league Pop corn teeth will be in big trouble Fail, Fail!!
Heerenveen have already received higher bids than 3.5 million euro's Celtic have bid for. Couple of German teams and EPL teams are in for him, but so far, Heerenveen is doing good in the Eredivisie with 2 wins and 3 goals by Finnbogason. So no, they are only letting him go for silly money. Which is around 7 to 8 million euro's I estimate.
The story I saw on Eurosport site earlier said we were going to bid 6 million Euros - with a few add ons and sell on clauses and stuff it could be enough. As for people asking if he's any good - Heerenveen came 8th last year and Finnbogason scored 24 league goals (almost half of Heerenveen's total) - third top scorer in the league and (I know, I know, I saw it on youtube) some of his finishing looks brilliant - one of the goals against Ajax is a rocket. Given the right service and the right partnerships (with either Samaras, Stokes or Balde), he would bag at least the same amount here.
To be sensible for once, I am absolutely gobsmacked that Celtic have not really made any effort to strengthen for Europe. I mean let's face it, you'll win the League with what you have but Celtic are worse off than last year in a European sense. The money is there. Why is in to not being given to Lennon?
There can only be two reasons for that: 1. The board are tighter than a crab's arsehole. or 2. They don't trust Lennon/Any manager with big transfers.
