    Took this from the Mirror website. He seems to expect much more from us this year... as do I of course.




    Newcastle

    I’m expecting better from The Toon this year and they should finish mid-table.

    Loan striker Loic Remy has a court case hanging over him but should do well if he focuses on the goals.

    No doubt the partnership between director of football Joe Kinnear and boss Alan Pardew will throw up a crisis or two.

    But if the odd couple can steer clear of arguments they should steer Newcastle clear of the relegation zone.

    I'd certainly settle for 9th this season! I think it is slightly optimistic to think we will.

    No-one really predicted some of last season. Michu, Swansea, Norwich doing ok, Wigan picking up a cup. This season will be no different, surprises everywhere. Collymore doesn't say anything remarkable and could be way wide of the mark re; Swansea doing better (unlikely IMO), Ricky VW being "overpriced", etc. What are the views of everyone else here in terms of being a bit more gung-ho with predictions? Should we start an unlikely predictions thread?

    He also predicted us 50/50 to survive. That seems reasonable to me.
