Now that is vacant, it'll be interesting to see who gets it, its an iconic number and holds a special place for us and a lot of world-class players have worn that number on the shirt like Beckham, Best, Robson, Cantona and Ronaldo.

Couldn't of thought of anyone else, i think it'll be a new signing that gets it in my opinion.

 

Very long shot could be Adnan Januzaj.

 

Zaha in the future, if he deserves it. If not then a new signing. None of the players in your list deserve it right now imo, and Kagawa is more likely to end up as number 10 if (when?) Rooney leaves.

Januzaj is a good shout Const, tho' again that's if he deserves it, or the manager thinks he'll be inspired by it like CR was.

 

I highly doubt it, i think it might be Zaha or a new signing, i.e. Fellaini.

 

TBH I hope it is a new signing and not Zaha. Has talent but I'm not sure on him though hopefully he will develop into a top player over next 1-2 seasons.

 

Same here, i would give him the number in a couple of years time, whoever we sign, whether its fellaini or anyone else, i think it'll be one of them that gets the number 7 shirt.

 

I'd only give him the shirt as Swarbs said if he deserves it and when he shows the same ability as the other number 7's. I'm still not sure about him but hope he lives up to the hype.

 

give it to an experience player like we did with Owen then give it to a youngster i.e. Zaha.

 

How the hell did we end up with Owen let alone give him the number 7 shirt? Yes he scored some goals and I'm grateful but he was not the signing we needed that window.

 

To be fair, we wanted to get Benzema but it was his dream to play for Real Madrid, also Owen was on a free transfer and he did score against City, he had a good season with us in his debut campaign.
