One of the midfielders have be sacrificed IMO. Anthony Knockaert must play behind the strikers with Ben Marshall as back up. Knockaert showed more in 20 mins then the rest of the team did in 90. There is no link between the midfield and the strikers with 3 in midfield and it takes us too long to get the ball out of the back
It wasn't a classic by any means. But as the away team, it's a better point for us against a side expected to finish in the top 8.
Get off your high horse ffs. We have a goalscorer and Knockaert created about 5 chances when he came on.
We're 2 games in for ****s sake. Both teams were quite evenly matched today. You can hardly compare last season to this when teams are still finding themselves out.
Well thanks for the chat it was more interesting than the game. Good luck for the season its going to be a long one watching that.
Try not to get too hung up on one game I watched some dross that even the mighty Hull Tigers have served up on TV for the world to see (at home to Bristol City springs to mind...), but you still managed to get promoted... If your question was "are you worried after seeing that?", my answer is no, definitely not. 4 points from the first 2 games isn't a bad start at all, we are still learning a new formation, and IT'S ONLY TWO GAMES IN!!!! Things could always be worse... We could be Millwall for starters
It was an awful game but there are some positives. Liam Moore was excellent, especially as he had to shift positions half-way through- all 3 centre halves performed well in my opinion. Knockaert did look good when he came on, and the 3 in midfield linked together nicely. The 5-3-2 needs some attacking work. Both strikers ran around like headless chickens I thought, with Wood's brief cameo better than Nugent and Vardy's performances throughout.
While no one really stood out as having a bad game it wasnt a very good team performance I think Konch's lack of pace really makes the 532 difficult. Ritchie De Laet wasnt feeling well thats why he come off so he wasnt his normal self I think King, James and Drinkwater are all too similar and we need either Knockaert or Marshall playing in their just behind the strikers. Jamie Vardy once again worked his socks off but his lack of composure in front of goal cost him. He is also too indicisiveness at times when it comes to decisions in the final 3rd
The midfield trio were all pants. They're all the exact same type of player. We needed a creative force (Knockaert) and a bustling, tough tackling midfielder in there to pick up the bits. That Austin is the exact player we've been screaming out for for years.
It's been suggested before...
Some proper stroppy tarts on here. How did Matty play, that's if he played? I'm afraid I don't do the lower leagues these days, the quality just isn't there.
I remember that advert It's hard to laugh at it though because I really can see it happening (not Multi ball though )
I wouldn't worry it won't change things too much, even with multiball all we'd see is a complete lack of creativity or intent to attack multiplied up as all the defenders could aimlessly hoof a ball at the same time.
Would somebody please tell me what King brings to the side, I have watched him play, Yes.. he scored a lot of goals from midfield to get us back into the championship but since then the goals have dried up. I watched him today and could not for the life of me see what he brings to the team.. and I would not want him in the team if we were playing away mid -week during the winter months at Millwall or Leeds etc etc.
