He tweeted at about 10am that he was on his way back to Southampton. Sounds like he went up to a specialist before returning.
Says on twitter that he's been medically assessed. There was no way he would be risked for the England game even if it was only a tweak...let's hope it isn't too bad. I doubly hope that he hasn't some underlying problem as he is quite a little sicknote.
I expect we won't hear whats wrong with Shaw. They'll just keep saying he's "near" game by game, even if its months of doing that.
MP should be furious, both Shaw for the first goal and Chambers for the second gave thier players too much space. Shaw recieved a bollocking from Morgan so hoping he will learn but ball watching is a constant fault of his. Even for thier third goal the defender was not goalside and gave the forward a 2 yard start. With regards to Lallana, last season if he had converted the chances that he would normally bury, he would have finished the season with 10 goals and everyone would have been saying that he had a great season
To be fair, I place more blame on Morgan for that goal. He waved his foot at that ball and had ages to clear. Lovren showed the player down the line, rightly, then Jos and Morgan titted around and then Luke failed to react as a result.
It was the classic case of Player 1 goes for the ball and doesn't get there Player 2 see Player 1 going for the ball and then takes his eye off it. Problem was that Morgan was running at the ball and would be knocking it towards his own goal, should still be easy to knock it over but didn't want to risk it and pulled out at the last second, and Luke had the easiest of easiest clearances but wasn't set for it. Both to blame really. The one large hole in Luke's game is defending at the back post, frequently lets men drift off of him. Fair enough if he gets out-manned if a striker pulls off onto him and beats him in the air but he needs to keep on his winger. Definitely something that can be improved upon with experience, though.
That's a pretty fair assessment. It's human nature to make assumptions in that scenario but you really can't afford to in those cases.
Important lesson for Luke which I hope he learns from is that you have to be ready for anything but he is only 18 and its a small mistake that made no difference. 4th goal was a great example of the benefits of the high press. We really squeezed Real and Cork did a great job at right back to give their defender no out ball. Ward-Prowse was really impressing with his pressing and has clearly soaked in the tactics like a sponge. Bright future
