Like most of Sven signings (except Kasper and, possibly, Nugent) I think both Konch and St Ledger are perfectly decent at this level but grossly overpaid. I think both could be adequately replaced at a fraction of the cost. Whether Nigel has already found a replacement for Konch remains to be seen. But since I know next to nothing about Bakayogo, then I'm happy for the manager to decide if he's yet ready to replace Konch or not.

Having said that, if, as you say regarding newspaper stories, there remains a chance that Konch may still leave, then we may get to see Bakayogo sooner than expected. Something tells me though that Konch we end up seeing his contract out. Contracts like his will no doubt be a rarity in the future.

QPR are apparently the side who want him. They've just paid 6m for a striker, I don't think contracts like his are a rarity down there!

That's one of the many problems with FFP. It creates a situation where teams that have been in the Championship for a while (despite having plenty of money) can't possibly compete with sides that are enjoying parachute payments. It could potentially lead to one of the most unpredictable leagues in the world becoming no better than the procession that is the Premier League.

Clubs coming down from the Premier League rarely do well. What you've got to remember is that their squads are often filled with players who believe they are better than the league the club is in, which is bad for morale. They can be difficult to shift due to long contracts and high wages.

These teams are also in the habit of losing games. A habit that is hard to get out of.

It's not a coincidence that all the relegated teams did poorly last season.

That's how it is now, but it will change will FFP. Regular Championship sides won't be able to compete. For instance, I'd be surprised if any of the three relegated sides this season don't do well. I can't remember the last time I thought that, there's always one or two sides that you'd expect to struggle. We'd be much stronger this season without FFP, and I'm sure we're not alone in that.

If your going to copy our formation at least do it justice and create something?
Far too predictable with the ball can't see that team troubling the top 6.
