Team in 5 years? Who knows. Rodgers is still building. I dont think Enrique will be in the team though. I hope Sturridge is still with us and successful.

and i quote "Who knows.... usually there should be at least 8 new players in 5 years."

i said that in my post, its quite accepted practice to write out all the young lads as a starting point. its up to the 5/6 young lads to be top quality.

    Would you want him back????

Javier Mascherano has revealed to El Pais that he cannot say with any certainty whether he will be staying at Barcelona. A return to former club Liverpool has been mooted, with Mascherano having enjoyed three-and-a-half productive years at Anfield before heading for Spain in August 2010.

Absolutely, but he'd cost maybe 15mill or so and alot in wages...but maybe too much for squad competition and too defensive to play alongside Lucas

I'd have him back for sure, that endless closing down and boundless energy is something
we could do with in front of the back four.

Downside was always a yellow card,or worse, waiting to happen but hey............

I think today's game highlighted once again how badly we need an aggressive player who will bully the opposition. Celtic used their caveman-like physical skills very well today and we struggled. One of Papadopoulos or Mascherano would be perfect.

  12. If we only want a backup then why not? However, as much as I like jose, we should be looking to buy someone that could take his place, the squad will take care of itself <ok>

    I agree.

If we had actually seen our transfers pulled off (maybe we still will)l and got papa and Mkitaryan in I'd say forget lb till next year and spend a bit bigger on it. Or at least really work to find the best.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there, I dont think Rodgers really appreciates the need for a physical or aggressive presence in the middle of the park and this really is our biggest weakness. You can praise Lucas all you like but he is neither physically strong or aggressive.

Also I really think we need some pace up front. The front 3 in the first half never really had the pace to get in behind. As far as I'm concerned Sterlng or Ibe are a must to start based on our current squad.

  15. And as a DM, this is why I question his ability to be a first eleven player for a title challenging side (no, I'm not claiming we are title challenging side wums <doh>). I like he is good enough to get us into the top four but he seriously needs competition for that place in the side IMO

lucas is strong... (or was) don't mistake basic height with power. players like shearer proved that for years...

DM... yes if we were title challenging you need one but come on.... million miles off and you need to reduce expectations. I held high expectations for LFC and judging things by those... LFC no long that... simply put we are worst of the 4 sides competing for 4th and are hoping everton fall apart under martinez... hoping arsenal are crap but they not weakened and hoping spurs do one... but they've improved.

so here we are with a swap of keeper some small improvements... as in if dowing goes aspas is better... alberto should be better than shelvey and toure is a swap for carra... improvement? suarez is out for the foreseeable so our fate rests with two young men.. sturridge and coutinho

So apparently Spurs are interested in Suarez to replace Bale according to some papers this morning..

From Madrid & Bayern, to Arsenal & Spurs. Bet Suarez is wondering what's going on.

No idea who comes up with this crap but the fact they aren't in CL would suggest that this has absolutely no truth in it.

Also reports that Spurs have beat us to the signing's of Erikson and Toby........Probably bullshit, but you never know. If true, Spurs have had a very good transfer window.

If true it surely means Bale is a gonna? #spentshitloadsalready
