Picture in the gallery of Rickie pointing to his forehead and someone on SaintsWeb reckons the guy tried a head-butt on Rickie.
Morgan's goal was a beaut, Lallana's finish was pretty nice too. I choose to ignore all the goals we conceded.
Just seen the Rickie incident again. What the hell went on there, he might get involved in a fracas now and then but he looked like he'd lost it there. Wonder what caused that from him. Not like him.
Just watched Player highlights....some beautiful stuff and good Saints goals, but our defence was poor. Can see why Mauricio has mixed feelings. We played some entertaining stuff, but he must be really disappointed if he thought we were ready for the start of the season. Wanyama looked very promising. Looks like the same 'we will score one more than you' style from last season.
I really fancy Schneiderlin for a hatful this season. I've been at a wedding all day (and am a bit pissed) and there was a Cardiff fan there who was dribbling over Schneiderlin to me all day, he thought he was good enough to start for any club in the country, interesting that other fans are realising how good he is.
Just on the Luke Shaw injury front, Riise on a free has got to be worth a look. At the stage in his career where he probably wouldn't mind playing second fiddle to Shaw and a definite upgrade on Fox. I also think Riise would be a great role model for Shaw. Anyone else getting a little concerned with Shaw's injury proneness?
Definitely, I've thought it for a while, just nice to hear fans from other clubs chewing your ear off about our players. Also, although we have been very critical of Lallana, fans of other clubs really seem to rate him, I guess we have set such high expectations of him.
Lallana has such quick feet it's ridiculous, it's not mentioned enough. He's probably got the quickest feet of all the england players, does less tricks than some like Zaha and Young but he's a better dribbler in my opinion.
Was at the game today, some of my thoughts (though I'm pretty drunk so it may count for little); More positives than negatives: Morgan is absolutely incredible. Wanyama looks good, recycles the ball in a simple manner and seems to win everything. He is a strong guy, and will be a big presence when and where we need it most. Lovren looked good, made a few great interceptions and looked composed on the ball. I haven't seen their first goal back, but I don't think it was his fault? Lallana, jrod, lambert in the first half were irresistible! Caused sociedad no end of problems. Guly ran his socks off and looked good in my opinion! Boruc was also great when called into action. The first half I thought we really looked good. Puncheon was great and I thought Mayuka showed signs of promise. There were more but ill stop here. Negatives: Chambers positioning; don't doubt that he has the technical ability to make it as a great player, but he needs more experience before he's thrown in to the first team fold in my opinion. Cork played very well at right back (albeit a terrible header which was almost an og) Jrod as a lone striker - didn't work. I believe this was more to do with tactics and the team we had on as opposed to j rod being poor, but he didn't suit a lone striker role, the service wasn't up to it and when he did latch on to a through ball he had no support! Gaston - poor again. Was critical of him last season and I still am. He has done little to show that he deserves to be anywhere near the first 11. Guly was a lot better. Gaston was very poor at times today - I hope it was rustiness and lack of game time was what caused it, although I can't help but feel he played similarly all of last season. When you compare his first touch and attempted flicks and knock ons to lallanas, they are completely different levels.
Was slightly disappointed with Lallana last season, but, as someone said, that may be due to our high expectations of him. Class is permanent as they say, so am hoping for a great season. His goal was impressive...more of them, please. Although only a friendly (with players switching around) it was still a good sign that we can score against a class side like Real.
He was good until he got injured. I don't know whether he lost a bit of confidence or maybe never got completely fit again.
