Never understood the psychology of metal. Music is an expression of love, unless it's rap, then it's an expression of how I have more **** than you. But metal is just so aggressive, and yet, most metal heads, are often the most good natured and gentle people you can meet. Apart from Kyle, who is a complete cockwomble

So I've never understood the reasons behind loud shouty music. I admit I've never listened to much of it, since I love a good melody and a story with good use of words and imagery.

 

You've listened to the wrong bands then.

 

Those two statements contradict each other because you're not listening to the right sort of rap music

I have never heard a metal song I like but then I like a lot of the early rap (Sugar house gang, Gary Byrd, grandmaster flash etc.) which weren't anything like some of the modern rap, so I wouldn't dream of saying metal is ****...just ain't my kind of ****!
To be honest I like a lot of different styles of music...early rap, some stones, some motown, 70s/80s 2tone, stone roses and the rest of the manchester stuff in late 80s and early 90s....guess I'm a bit of a music whore

Gary Byrd's "the crown" featured stevie wonder...was about 10 minutes long ... truly great record
