Seems like the promotion season's gone to some people's head. Considering we spent 15 years outside the top flight and performed dismally for two seasons in it, the promotion season was the aberration. The Championship is a tough division and we're going to be one of several clubs looking to get promoted. In the playoff positions: seems pretty reasonable after the torrid time we've been having.
With a bit more sharpness in box we would have score equally big numbers as Watford today. About Huddersfield, i have to say if we would have defended with the same attitude last season as them today we probably have ended to the top 10. This was the pre-taste of whats coming this season against these so called average teams. Still, good away point i think after the quite superior command of the match. Huddesfield of course, got their chances too but i think we were the the better side today.
I thought that Simpson was excellent today - a great acquisition. His attacking play was particularly good.
Huddersfield were tight, defended very well and took their chances. People still think of them as a one man team without Rhodes but they are resilient We looked the better side but as someone mentioned with 17 shots we need to be putting some away. A worry is an injury to Austin or AJ and what back up do we have?
A sensible summary of where we are, I'm pretty optimistic after the 3 games played clearly work in progress & should get better particular once all the comings & goings by the end of the month have been sorted.
Sorry to say this about a QPR legend but Clint could have done better yesterday. He jumped late and low for what should have been a straightforward clearance for any centre back. He has been gracious enough to admit this himself but it high lights the fact that Harry's team is not really complete as yet. I hope he can find the right players to join the Might Hoops.
It's a question of patience. I've been expecting to start the first 10 games or so (ie until October) reasonably slowly because, let's face it, we don't have a settled squad. Once the bad 'uns are out and hopefully we bring in more quality, our momentum should gather pace
Hopefully Mr Redknapp will address the striker situation in this transfer window after last season's shambles!
