Anyone hear Rob Scott being interviewed after the Grimsby game today ? Often comes across as moody. Today the interview ended with John Tondeur saying he wasn't going to take anymore abuse.
JT is a top bloke and very good at his job. I've often wished he'd done City instead. Good to see him stand up for himself.
I think that Grimsby bloke is a prize twat when I've heard him speak. Allan Knill was a rude bastard too when he was doing a **** job at Scunthorpe. Yet it was NP who got the ****ty reputation.
Apparently something happened after the interview finished. The Humberside bloke was clearly upset saying something on the lines of he 'ain't taking any more abuse'. Job anyone ??
He's passionate about Grimsby Town - he knows what he's talking about. No doubt he's a good broadcasting pro but he probably wouldn't be able to cover another team with the same gusto.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01ddrqq Starts about 26 minutes in. EDIT: Probably not worth it actually, he's a bit prickly as always but nothing that exciting. They must have edited the bit where Tondeur says he's not taking any more abuse.
The interview started going downhill when JT asked about the formation. Scott didn't seem to like being asked about the formation then started going on about people being negative for the last couple of years. When I was listening to it the interview seemed to come to an abrupt end. A few seconds after the interview JT said he wasn't prepared to take anymore abuse so I'm guessing it went downhill even more after Humb stopped broadcasting the interview.
I have been speaking to a workmate who lives in Cleethorpes... Apparently John whats-is-face suggested to Rob Scott that Grimsby change their name to Grimsby Sub-Mariners as they are going down and he took offence.
JT(?) comes back on about 33mins & gives a little explanation but won't say what was said after the interview but suggests you can guess, follows up with he won't take abuse
never heard of rob scott before but he seemed a bit of a ****, his team just put a **** performance in and have been in the conference for ahwile now.. they were above city 10 years ago
I remember them being div 1 and watching them beat Tottenham on the box down in Essex around 2006 time
i do love a grimsby town story, saying that the only time i've been grimsby is passing through to pleasure island
I've been to Grimsby to see City at least twice including Simpkin being booked in the first few seconds.
