OK. My pass is already paid for so I'm in two minds as to whether I should continue to go. I don't buy pies or booze at the ground and the programme's ****, so it won't make too much difference to them if I boycotted or not. Hopefully the camel-bothering ****s will change their minds and realise what arseholes they're being. Thanks for the advice, smelly arse.
It seems to be only Erik and me publicly taking this stance. I will not ever attend a Hull Tigers match, I don't support them, I support Hull City. If the premier league rules state that we have 1 more season of Hull City I'll be going. If that name changes then I won't be. I refuse to endorse an ego driven maniac meddling with things far beyond him on nothing more than a whim.
If we're Hull City AFC for this season I'll continue to attend. If the name changes at all, be it to 'Hull City Tigers' or 'Hull Tigers', I'm packing it in until the Allams **** off. There's so much wrong with what they've done. First there's the fact we were blatantly lied to about it on more than one occasion, and by more than one person at the club. There's the fact that they vehemently denied any plans to become 'Hull Tigers' until they were sure that everyone had purchased/renewed their season tickets. There's the fact that the change comes down to nothing other than the Allams' personal dislike of the name we've had since our inception over a century ago. There's the fact that Allam is excusing his detestable behaviour by insisting it will make the club money, in spite of the fact he's the only owner of an English football club to ever think so. There's the fact we now sound more like a Rugby League side than either of the city's professional Rugby League sides. There's the fact that our thousands of plastics are lapping it up because they think it means they'll now get an extra season or two of watching their beloved Manchester United and Chelsea at the KC... Etc, etc. I've always refrained from partaking in the communal masturbation that occurs every time somebody mentions the Allams on here, and I've done so because I took them for what they are and were - businessmen who happen to own our club, and whose timely purchase of it purportedly 'saved it' from extinction. A fluke I believe, and not, as some like to think, the result of Assem Allam's feelings of indebtedness or devotion to the city of Kingston-upon-Hull.
I would suggest anyone ending a post with "Thanks for the advice, smelly arse" is the one who needs to do some growing up.
Good performance from us, although Real Betis didn't look particularly interested. We played some really neat stuff in the first half, the 4-2-3-1 worked really well and allowed Brady and Aluko to shine. The defence looked solid, and Koren looked really up for it, it's almost as if he knows he's got a place in the side to play for now. The second half on the other hand was fairly dull bar the goal, the substitutions really took the kick out of the game as we looked really disjointed after that. I'm not sure what Agnew was playing at, we had the correct players on the pitch to play a 4-4-2 yet we had Dudgeon playing at right back with Rosenior and Bruce in midfield.
Yep Bruce sat front row of the directors box for the first half but didn't see him in the second. The Allam family were not sat in their usual places.
And I'd suggest that you've completely missed the point of that post Melu said, "I believe that we have a season to get it fixed, so don't let it put you off insulting anyone" So I went for, "thanks for the advice, smelly arse" as I thought it an obvious, light-hearted and jocular response. Have a nice day.
I was impressed by our performance, we looked good. Brady stood out, but in general, the formation seemed to work. As for Betis, Ãlvaro Vadillo (number 7) impressed me. Ignoring his challenge on Meyler, he looks a good player, only young too.
I thought this was a thread on the pre-season game today... City played well and scored three cracking goals. Brady and Aluko stood out as you'd expect, but the entire team looked sharp and ready for the Prem. Graham looked very good as well, won the ball often and created a few good chances. Virtually all the subs who came on played well as well, especially Fryatt, Boyd and Macca. Dudgeon rolled back the months and looks nearly there.
If it helps, Vadillo is very good on Football Manager, just signed for Chelsea on my game at the age of 20 for £24m.
Great send off for Daws- pre match 'Legends' game with his kids coming on, and lap of honour at the end. Surprisingly good on pitch interview with Steve Jordan afterwards too. Good to see us doing things properly today but shame gate was so low.
