All a bit surreal for me at the moment. It's 10.45pm here, and listening to the half-time round up (trying to find a decent link as my laptop has clearly had just aboout enough of all the dodgy links/feeds over the past few years and is refusing to stream a link at any decent rate), the Mrs has gone to bed and it's setting in that we are no longer in the promised land. Listening to the game on London 94.9, along with all other sources of media to get as much info on the game as poss (a few good apps on the iPad - Caught Offside is worth a bash), then burst into laughter as I have the vision of Zamora, SWP etc sat on the bench and just imagine their faces, and probably their thoughts, on the fact that are sat in the dugout at Huddersfield in the Championship. Not even bloody starting!!! But, it is what it is. Are they really any good? SWP for example......a few years ago he was enjoying first team football at Chelsea and Man City, even a fair share of England caps. Zamora similar stuff. Now, they aren't in their twilight years particularly (gone are the days that a player who is 34-36 years old are well past it), they are literally sat in their positions cos they are not good enough. When the likes of SWP etc all signed for us when we got promoted I thought Xmas and B'day had come at once....QPR signing England players? Legit premier players? But alas, we seemed to have managed to **** them up........but often make good/great players out of average ones.....Perhaps Uncle Tony really has changed his plan (and hopefully forgotten about the "4 Year Plan") and is signing the right type of players and not just raiding the reject bins of big clubs. So, what's the prediction? Are there "superstars" going to hang around? It really cannot do any good for their already massive egos......not too many glory fixtures this season i.e Yeovil Town, Doncaster, etc. But, on the other hand, many are still clearing massive wages for a Championship player. Gonna be interesting to lose a players like Mackie, Agyemang (ok, a bit controversial), etc who will come on and runtheir tits off. Will Zamora, SWP etc really do that for us? On another note, really hope that Harry broadens his horizons and loses his one-page scouting book/player list....... RTiD
We never ****ed them up, they were crap when they signed for us, another club managed to mug us off and probably couldnt stop laughing when they got £10m for the pair. Hoilett would be an example of a good player that turned into utter **** last season, however he looks like hes turned it around again.
