With one week to go until the big kick off, the now infamous Prediction League is back! Entrants are welcome for all Liverpool fans and rules have remained pretty much the same from last year with just a couple of tweaks. Rules are quite simply, predict the score of the Liverpool game each week, including one Liverpool goal scorer (you can't predict a Liverpool scorer if you predict us to get 0 goals though). Prediction can be made up until kick off but any after the kick off time will not be counted. If you wish to change your prediction, you must enter a new post and not edit your existing one as this won't be picked up. Points will be awarded for the follow: Correct score - 7 points (increased from 5 last year) Correct result - 2 points Correct result & goal difference - 3 points Correct goal scorer - 7 points for a defender, 5 points for midfielder/OG or no scorer, 3 points for a forward* Named scorer getting a hatrick - bonus 5 points Failing to predict - minus 1 point *The Liverpool page of the bbc website will be used for classification of who is a midfielder/forward In addition to last year, you also have 2 "Captain Cards" that can be used throughout the season. When your CC is played you will score double points for that game week. To play your Captains Card just put CC after your prediction. this is the prediction I was going to go with so instead I will take the chance of big big points for a defender and say Liverpool 2 - 0 Stoke (Toure)
We need a good start in the new season. Stoke are unlikely to come and defend. I am going for home win. Liverpool 3:0 Stoke.
