Just found this quote from Jose about our strikers in particular, and our squad as a whole. It relates to us not buying anyone else if we don't get Rooney. Asked about Torres, Ba and Lukaku Jose said something like " we've got what we've got and we don't need to buy anyone else. What we do need is to give all our players our trust, our work and our support" Given that most of us usually give our out of form players our bollocking, our slagging off and our put downs, seems to me Joses way might be the way to go!!! Most people react better to help and support than to a dressing down, so I for one, will make every effort this season to NOT jump in and criticise as soon as someone screws up. Really looking forward to see our team blend and improve as the season goes on, and good luck to every one in our squad and all our back up staff and players.

Real Madrid fans I know would have him back tomorrow. He doesn't need to talk himself up. He could retire tomorrow and comfortably be in amongst the top 10 managers to ever have graced the sport. Won CL with two different clubs aged 47 and will inevitably become the first manager ever to win it with three different clubs.
This is a young team so I expect plenty of mistakes and several moments of brilliance with the older players leading by example. Bar Cahill I have faith in every single member of that squad and believe each and every one can offer us something, which I've not felt in a while with out squad.
