Our last pre-season game today guys before the big KO in the Prem for us at West Ham next week.

I've not been to a pre-season game since I got bored to death watching City take on FC Twente Enschede at Ninian - that must have been about 6 or 7 years back now.

Not sure what they tell us to be honest. The bonus about the Chievo game was the clean sheet we kept, but you could say we were lucky about that. Match fitness run outs played at half pace and with usually little body contact - a far cry from the big Sam test coming up.

Agreed we need them to get the guys playing together, and Bilbao are a very good side to gauge ourselves against, but will it be just another run out today for Malky to assess his squad, or does he already know right now who will start on the 17th?

Morning Sparkey. Hope all is well on the Riviera. A bit grim oop North.

Not sure MM puts a lot of credence on pre-season games hence his preference for a weeks training camp and largely spliting the squad fo the early games.

When I played rugby the first game of the season was always a shock irrespective of how much training you'd done and having played a few 'friendlies'. The intensity is always a step up.

I fancy us to sneak a win at West Ham but it could be a reality check the week after. I'm looking forward to this.

I have no interests in pre-season friendlies.

If we had Merthyr away id have gone for the day out.

I reckon we will sign Medel and Montero this week.

If Cornelius is fit I reckon he will start up front on his own. If not Campbell on his own.

If Cornelius is fit and Medel signs.

    I reckon

    Marshall
    Brayford Turner Caulker John
    Medel Whitts
    Kim
    Campbell Bellamy
    Cornelius

Thats the side id go for if Whitts is back to his best. If we dont sign Medel then Gunner plays. In fact id have no problem with Gunner or Mutch starting.

Mutch been pretty unless in the last few games but Kimbo is real class, missing Gunners a lot and hopefully he will return to bring stability to the side,Conway not my type of winger and we need Noone to be on fire as he is unstoppable when on form
Looking forward to the away WHam trip and even pre booked the Fulham away as 3000,the been sold so far

There is a site now showing ALL Cardiff City games home and away live,,,,,,happy dayz ;o)

I think the side that starts today wont be to dissimilar to the one that will start against the hammers next wk. we need all those to have a proper run out..can't fricking wait til next weekend!

regarding internet sites vipsport is not bad for showing the live games.

For those like me who are not there: -

Cardiff City: Marshall; Connolly, John, Kim, Caulker, Turner, Whittingham, Gunnarsson, Campbell, Bellamy, Smith. Subs: Brayford, Lewis, Mason, Cowie, Hudson, Conway, Noone.

To me, that's the team to start at West Ham too. Cornelius/Campbell - either could start as the one up on his own, but we need to get Maynard involved pretty soon.

Maybe Tommy Smith is the right guy to start up there as well, though I'd like to see Noone given a shot at the West Ham defenders - a penalty waiting to happen...<laugh>

Anyone else listening to this on CC Player?

About 20 minutes gone, no score but Shep and Ash saying City playing well and taking the game to ACB.

Edit - they just hit the crossbar. <doh>

Hey Sparkey, surprised Brayford isn't in the starting line up. Also, didn't expect Smith to get much game time this year though we may see more of Noone of the bench.

Still look a player or two light in the squad.
