This name change problem is rather quite simple. We will all have different standards of what is acceptable to change. Kit colours/patterns, food at the KC, smoking regulations, Club name, Relocation of stadium, Managers and so on... All else is irrelevant. It comes to down to how tolerant or bothered you are by a change... in this case a club name change. So this is extremely subjective and like anything subjective, cannot really be solved logically.
Another way to put it is the allams saved us from extinction, therefore I will voluntarily bend over and take it up up the arse whenever they please. Treating us with utter contempt. They are openly saying that the fans that have stood by the club through thin and thinner, matter less to them than Than the pie in the sky new fan base and investment that they hope to attract with these shambolic changes. ****s trick.
it's an analogy you kin'tard! it's an accurate one too and represents this situation pretty well for those in the 'he saved the club he can do what he wants' camp. he clearly can (and is doing) but it doesn't make it right.
It's a terrible analogy, you're meant to compare situations with similar levels of severity or impact you ****ing inbred. Getting shot doesn't not compare to a name change. Also the life-saver guy doesn't own the guy who almost died. The Allams do own the club. "doesn't make it right" is only a matter of perspective. I am not saying he should do it but it's his damn club. It is exactly HIS right to change the name if he pleases. If he wishes to keep everyone happy then it's not the best thing but that's a completely different matter. From his point of view, it all makes sense. Of course, everyone's pissed that they're not taking the fans opinion into consideration but as far as it being "RIGHT OR WRONG" he's doing nothing wrong.
thought i'd try this board for a few mins - most people seem to think the Allams are ****s now - biggest PR disaster and biggest fall from grace i can remember , except Gary Glitter
Well that is indeed true. Terrible decision, I'm not necessarily happy with it but I don't really feel it's my place to ask them to stop what they're doing considering they own the damn club. This will most likely lead to selling the club after a couple years of negativity from the fans and then some hero will come out from nowhere and change the name back
I could just as well give you a very similar analogy... but with a different level of tolerance. "You are falling off a cliff, a man reaches out and catches you thus saving your life. A few weeks later you have fully recovered and have been given a better job at work. Out of the blue the guy that saved you walks in to the office and asks if he can borrow your car for the weekend. Should you not feel anger towards him for cheekily asking this of you, simply because he saved you in the first place? Should you smile sweetly and thank him for what he has done and him over the keys?
Hey! I've already got a lass of me own. Besides, its still possible Brady might be a bloke... His/her posting is too ambiguous, and the sig is written off considering he/she had a girlfriend...
The only thing we know for certain is that he/she likes the best of both worlds, if you know what I mean...
AA saved the club, he is a business man and he has a better idea of making money than us keyboard warriors. I say trust him, same as we trust SB. of course things may change soon. but a lot of you need to have a sleep before you climb back on your high horses again.
