Why do people act like the PL isn't predictable? Since 05-06 it's been the same top two except one year when Liverpool finished 2nd.

I think the La Liga has better individual talents. Most players in La Liga are technically and they prefer the attacking side of the game.

If we go through all the the players in both leagues, you will see that La Liga is full of more naturally gifted players. I'm sure most of you have noticed that most South American footballers prefer Spain over England, imo this because all the teams in La Liga play football, not rugby.

I think The Premier League is more competitive though. I definitely prefer watching the Prem, probably because the team I support plays in it.

How dare you reply with a sensible comment? You need to learn to be sarcastic and obtuse. Make them turn on themselves or confuse themselves. Please learn from me and try harder in future please.

We beat them in Spain and drew with them in the last match when all we needed was a draw to win the group.

I've never seen Barca play as well against bottom half La Liga teams as they did against us. When Barca raise their game against the La Liga teams they end up getting 5-0 wins like they did against Real, or 8-0 like against Almeira.

I'm not denying that Barca are far better than anyone else in the world, and Real are probably at a similar level to us. But then that does not mean that the league as a whole is better - I personally doubt the other 18 teams in La Liga would make the CL qualifying spots in the PL. But then again, La Liga starves them of funding - 50% of the broadcasting revenue in La Liga goes to Real and Barca so its hardly surprising they are so far ahead of the rest of the division, and so far ahead of most clubs in the world.

Spot on the distribution of money in their league is a joke. So bad in fact it makes our system look like a level playing field.

At the end of the day it's not clear cut "yes or no" it's also not a case of "this league has superior technique"
Also, using Barca, Real, United and Chelsea's recent trophies doesn't help in this argument.

These four are essentially exceptions to the league. They, over the last 5 or so years, have been consistently finishing top2.
They aren't the measure of how good the league is as a whole.

The way I see it is:
Take United and Chelsea out of the PL, and put them in La Liga.
With their respective current squads would they finish top 2 in La Liga. I personally think so.
However they wouldn't beat teams like Valencia with such ease as Real did. They are possibly capable of beating the lowest teams 6-0 as Real did..
But, would they finish as much as 20 points above 3rd place (Valencia)? No they wouldn't.
However, add the additional money that Barca and Real recieved last season, and allow them to spend some of it, and who knows?

At the same time take Real and Barca out of La Liga and put them in the PL.
Would they occupy the top2 spots that United and Chelsea did? I would think so. However Real wouldn't be assured a top 2 finish imo.
But for arguments sake, lets say Barca win the PL and Real finish second.
Would they finish 20 points above 3rd place Arsenal or City? Very very unlikely.
Also take away the additional money that La Liga provides them over the others, and maybe a couple of their squad members wouldn't have been affordable (villa, Mascherano?)

    My Point?
It's a pointless argument, there are way too many variables to consider <ok>

    Also..
Using the "we only managed to beat Valencia over two games" argument is kind of irrelevant.

We only managed to beat Rangers 1-0 over two legs two...
Are Rangers as good as us? Is the SPL as good as the PL?
    No.

Rangers play their socks off versus United with a full strength team, run themselves into the ground.. Then have to play Iverness or Kilmarnock.
Rangers drew 0-0 with us, then beat Dundee 4-0 four days later.
It's hardly surprising that they can manage a draw against us when they can rest their shattered players and still win 4-0 four days later.

5 days after that draw versus Rangers we had Liverpool...
    Enough said <ok>

I prefer La Liga, its quicker, involves more skill. Yeah it has more cheating but it's a faster paced game. All the best players in the world go there and to all of them it's not all about money,it's about pride and respect unlike alot of PL players.

    Once again...
Barca beating Arsenal and United doesn't make La Liga better..
It makes Barca better than Arsenal and United..

    Totally different things.

Barcelona play Real Madrid and beat them 3-1
Barcelona play Man Utd and beat them 3-1

Therefore Man Utd and Real Madrid are roughly equal.
Man Utd are the best team in England, so no one is claiming Liverpool, Chelsea or City are better than Madrid or Barca. But:

Valencia (3rd in La Liga) get beaten comfortably by Schalke
Schalke get beaten comfortably by United
None of Chelsea, Liverpool, City or Spurs have been beaten very comfortably by United this season
Therefore apart from Barca and Real Madrid, none of the other teams in La Liga are better than the top six in the PL

Simple enough for you? Or should I use words of one syllable?

Apparently Real Madrid beating a Spurs side who had never played in the Champions League before makes La Liga better <doh>

    What are you talking about?

La Liga is so ****ing slow and the best players all join Real Madrid and Barcelona the 2 richest teams yet you say it has nothing to do with money <doh>

All the best players join Madrid and Barca?
    So Aguero,Forlan,Mata,De Gea,Fabiano,Rossi,Llorente.
    There not good?
All I'm saying is they cruised against teams considered to be some of the best in England, in my opinion La Liga is far better

    Sorry...
How does Barca beating United and Arsenal prove La Liga is a better league as a whole?

Those players all came through their current sides' youth ranks or were brought after failing at Premiership Clubs.

Barcelona are better than anyone in England but the rest of La Liga is not as strong.
