Boothferry park was not fit for purpose. We were never going to progress if we stayed there. Surely you're not so blinkered as to believe otherwise. Our name, Hull City AFC, along with our nickname, The Tigers, ARE fit for purpose. Change for the sake of change is not progress. Sometimes history and tradition are easier to sell than gimicks.
Was going to mention FC, thought against it but here's some of their marketing for season passes for this season: http://www.hullfc.com/article/21987/hull-fc-launch-2013-season-passes http://www.hullfc.com/page/1377/challenge-10k City get this: http://www.hullcityafc.net/news/article/season-cards-201314-6-759108.aspx I've just checked, and THE BLOODY SEASON TICKET WEBSITE HAS BEEN TAKEN DOWN BEFORE THE SEASON HAS EVEN BEGUN. Honestly.
So through his actions, Allam has got every media outlook talking about Hull City including internationally. Is that not a stroke of genius?
No, it's another chapter in the history of Hull City AFC. If you move house (either in reality or cyber land) you don't start a whole new life unless you're in a witness protection programme.
Not when all the talk is ridicule and nullifies the justification. The Asian market looking in will see the cynical element of a name change based on the premise that they're simple gullible fools that would fall for such a ploy. Even if they had have fallen for the not so cunning plan, it's doubtful they'd have done it numbers to take up the drop in merchandising that will occur locally.
but you also cant deny that BP held a lot of great memories. same as KC holds great memories.. our 1st venture into top flight - Ok it went belly up but WHEN we move into Melton, we will **** Geraghtysaurus off and create memories there. The same can be said with Hull City. great memories, but everything must come to an end. now we have Hull City Tigers and I for 1 cant wait to create some new memories with this club.
And how much of it is positive? I've just read an article about our name change entitled "sports teams silliest names" or something like. Hardly how i want my club to be promoted.
Its called Brand awareness. Better to be talked about, then not to be talked about. Unless your me of course.
I'm on some sort of drug but like i said earlier i don't want you to leave, i enjoy your ****ness, if we were in thomas the tank engine, you'd be gordon the **** blue train, but thomas would still love you in his own kinky way, just stay we love you
Moving away from BP I could see what a great future we could have at the KC. What a wonderful ground, award winning toilets (before people smoked in them) and a bright future where people were saying good things about my team. I get none of that with this name change, I just feel let down.
The asian market have to have heard of you before they can make a judgement on you. edited to help you out.
EXACTLY another chapter. no but when you move, you start new memories and start to realize that you are beginning a new chapter in your new house
You need a clear brand. Something like, Hull City AFC. Nickname The Tigers. "Hull City Tigers" or "Hull Tigers" or "whatever you want" nickname "unknown" doesn't really cut it as a brand, as the very, very negative coverage shows.
I don't change my name. You're not moving house, you're going in for reincarnation as another creature.
I've been bothered by this all day. I've been disappointed before when we used to lose often, when we've been rubbish. When it's been an abysmal losing streak with barely any hope of turning things around. I've been angry before with performances or usually a lack of. I know some will say, hey it's only a name, and it is. We'll still have our history. But frankly today... Today I've been mainly embarrassed.
I'm so bored of reading your ****, I'm going to corrrect your spelling and grammar mistakes as a way of keeping interested!
