Not that the old goat will admit it, but protesting got ken bates to sell up, so we've proven it works. Do it.
It took years though. It would be far worse for you to be silent though. Your best bet IMO is to just keep signing 'City' songs.
Just sing loud and proud, let them know how unhappy you are about it. If it takes years it takes years. This clowns need to know that football does not belong to them.
That's the thing I fear most about this. The fact it may take years to change it back. But, if that is what it takes... The worst thing about the whole damned affair was that it was essentially rebranding by stealth. The first hint of Hull City Tigers was at our awards evening back before the end of last season! Things like e-mails and letters and statements came out with the name, even the training ground sign was changed to Hull City Tigers. All that time we were told it was just the 'business' side of the club. Two weeks ago, Nick Thompson (our Managing Director) came out on BBC Radio Humberside's SportsTalk and publicly denied that the Allams were going to change the name, and that they never would do so. Bunch of ****ing lies. I mean, if they had come out with the rebranding idea at the beginning of the summer, there would have still been outrage of course, but it wouldn't have made as volatile a situation as the one we currently have, as we would not have been lied to and we would have been treated fairly as fans of the club.
People can own a football club but it will never belong to them Football without fans is 22 people kicking a ball in a field
The Premier League have rejected Hull's name change While they cant stop them changing name but they will be officially recognised as Hull City AFC
All very worrying.... Leicester Foxes versus the Leeds Peacocks this afternoon. Looking forward to the clash of the Foxes' offence taking on the Peacocks' strong defence. The King Power Stadiumbowl will be jam packed with fans of soccerball cheering both franchises on in this exhilarating battle... Expect the foxes to win 3 points to 1.
I´d think it would be good to be called LEICESTER FOSSE again. It´ll be like Sheff Wednesday or Leyton Orient, ORIGINAL. Hull Ciy Tigers ??? it´s abit like Bay city rollers ain´t it. These owners that **** up clubs traditions There´s a team in Holland called ´GO AHEAD EAGLES´ so it could be worse Hull.
It wouldnt be bad either way because going back to Leicester Fosse wouldnt be abandoning our heritage. It would be going back to it If they owners wanted to change it to that people would of course have opinions but if they wanted to change our name to something like Leicester United or Leicester Rovers then everyone would take a stand like Hull have But at least when we went to change or name the club let the fans decide
Fair enough on Leicester Fosse, as that is what you were called before. At least it stays within your history.
The circumstances were markedly different - we were having to reinvent ourselves following the ignominy of administration (I too favored 'Fosse' at the time - 'a return to innocence' as the song by Enigma went) ... but your owners are throwing away tradition on little more than a rich man's whim ... and if the quotes are correct, the comment that 'City' is 'irrelevant' not only lacks respect but is wrong (as the reaction of the vast majority of your fans on here evidently demonstrates) ... it saddens me as much as it annoys me ... the beautiful game is infested by greed and hypocrisy at all levels.
