Have you got your Eric Cantona tattoo scratched off yet? God Leeds have been **** for a very long time now. I suppose that's why you have to come on the forum of a premier league club. Enjoy League One next season.
Unless I'm very much mistaken, that interview with the Hull Daily Mail did not happen at 5am this morning, so Phil Buck had a full 24 hours to plan how they could exploit this story to the maximum today. The Allams are not stupid.... They knew what the reaction would be... Just like at what happened when they took down a few tatty pics of ex rugby players down. But today, like it or not... Hull City (Tigers) are worldwide news. People who wouldn't give Hull City the time of day other than to comment on which other two teams apart from us are going to get relegated, have today got Allam's pic and his bio on every National rag. Quite some feat. And yes, all publicity is good publicity in a sport that is fuelled by media coverage.
Just my personal opinion, but I think 'Hull City Tigers' is actually a good name. Why? Because it emphasises something unique in the football league that we are all proud of (and I bet most other fans are jealous of.) It also retains the name we all use ie. 'Hull City' and the truth is everyone outside our fan base refers to the club as Hull anyway, so which is better? I'm usually a traditionalist when it comes to Hull City, but I can't really get angry about this because I want everyone to know we're 'The Tigers'. I want to rub it in their faces and the AFC will never disappear, it's part of our history and will remain so.
But now you're going to get bombarded with messages along the lines of "But he isn't satisfied with Hull City Tigers.... no the cad wants to remove the word City from my beloved gravestone. Won't someone think of the children???" etc etc
My opinion differs from Craig's but he at least is reasonable with his posts and explains his thoughts - I can respect that. And you still haven't explained how you got 10million+ rep points in a month despite two of us asking you.
What would really piss me off is if some team like Milton Keynes changed their name to MK Tigers and became widely known as 'The Tigers'. This name change lays claim to our nickname and recognises Hull City as the authentic Tigers.
What is also confusing and increasingly irritating is the way Allam says that the word "City" is a "lousy identity" but yet still keeps in in the name; Hull City Tigers Ltd. Does anyone else see some bullshit excuses coming out here?
How the **** should I know how points get awarded? Maybe I get 100 points for every time someone calls me a cock? 100 "cocks" * 20 days.... No still doesn't add up... Who knows or cares?
I don't care what business name is lodged at companies house. I care about Hull being recognised as a credible footballing city. Our team being successful in the league they are in. Our stadium being full week on week. Our financial situation being stable. Entertaining and competitive football being played every week. Being there to see it. I will still call the club Hull City AFC. Get behind the team and stop bickering.
Just seen it on the BBC Website, that we are going to change our name next year to Hull City Tigers. Apparently it will give us a bigger commercial presence abroad. Appologies if this has already been posted, but i've only just got my paper and was that schocked that i wanted to post this before any one else could. What does everyone think then? I don't see how it will work to be honest. Roary will look more like a Giraffee in China then anything else.
