I, like all other self employed business people really cannot fathom what makes these guys tick. I'm all about trying to sell the benefits of one's self but let's be fair about it all ..................... these guys want everything their way! There is no negotiation, it's all about me, me, me .................. Parker, Crouch, Cesar ................ the list goes on. Whatever happen to a little bit of 'give & take' ............... and, let's be genuine, In their cases ............. ( I'm over 30, I'm not quite as good as I was, but hey, WTF ) ............... give me more money or I won't budge! Seriously, many of these so called professionals need to give themselves an uppercut and wake up and smell the roses. If it was me, I'd rather being playing week in, week out, for less money which in turn, buys you ( if your up for it ) ......... a longer life in the football world. Sadly, there are many prima-donnas who have no interest in their current club because they only have eyes for themselves. This is one main reason that history will never look upon these clowns as we look back on the years.

Dave darling, give it up with SWP, it's not even on the debate list anymore. After more and more is coming out we will concede more and more that the squad last year on paper at least was top class. I'm not sure we ever doubted it though on paper, it was just Hughes' (mis)management. But SWP? No, never can concede that he's worth two bob along with Anton (who has proven such a Prize Dick I now agree with Swords' position) but never, never SWP!!!
Yes, last year's squad was top class on paper, but neither Hughes nor Redknapp could get them to perform, despite 'Arry being the great motivator. Hence his sad attempt to paper over his managerial inadequacies by claiming that there was a lack of quality in the squad.

Would love to see Townsend back, but 7m is ridiculous. 3.5 at the very most and that is pushing it seeing as he has played such a limited amount of PL football.
Heard a journalist on the radio earlier saying he thinks Levy has f*cked up the Bale deal. He's been playing 'hardball' trying to ramp the price up but in reality no offer has been made by Real. Their President has met Levy and offered players and a cash deal based on six years of instalments. He knows Levy has spent nearly £60 million on players banking on the Bale deal going through and they will use this to drive Bale's price down as they know Levy has to get the money to recoup his purchases. Suddenly, Levy is getting a taste of his own medicine so don't expect any benevolent treatment if we try and sign Townsend of Defoe, he'll hold out for top dollar...
levy is the only chairman who sells his crap players for more than they paid for them, Didier zakora springs to mind, I heard it was 7m bit if you buy jenas as well its 4m for them both

Since that is how business goes all around european football and I am more interested in QPR going up again I do not care how much money players realy deserve as long as they do play some decent football and someone else is paying for it. Townsend certainly is a very good player and should be kept unless he prefers to play for Chelsea.

7M is a lot of dough, but he is probably going to play for England after the next WC, so maybe it's not too much. Imagine this midfield: Townsend....Barton....Ale.....Hoilett ...in the Championship!?
Actually FT if he did go to Fulham that would make you a very pleasing side to watch.......wouldn't make me a fan but could appreciate good football...
Stood out for us amongst the turd last season. Would be delighted to have him back. Infinitely better than SWP.
