If he rebrands the club Hull City Tigers, I'm going to rebrand him Assem Allam Arsehole." Dave Lee (@davelee1968)
Oh come now its just the Allams showing they have some Tiger in the Tank and so that they can put some extra cash in the Bank! And really is a storm in an Allam Cup (oh stop it). City to me always will be rarely used the Tigers moniker but have no problem with the owners trying to create a brand name. It does have a ring about it-which City does not and if we are to become a global brand which I am sure all City supporters will want lets put our prejudices behind us and get behind our bankrollers. Save our nervous energy for cheering City on (sorry the Tigers) and worrying whether SB is going to bring in some decent midfielders.
Embrace the change ... don't dwell on the negatives ... just think of the possibilities .... "bouncy, trouncy, bouncy, trouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun ..... oohhh ..." Jocularity apart ... you have my heart felt sympathy and commiserations ...
We can't even organise a pre-season tour of Europe how do you think they will cope trying to promote a global brand.
The name change doesn't bother me all that much at the moment. What worries me is if they change the name, what other changes might they have planned in the background?! If someone offered me the chance to vote on the stadium ownership today my vote would go to the council. The Allams have done a lot of this club which I really appreciate, but stunts like this make them look rather untrustworthy! As for the game tomorrow. I'm still going. The chance to say thanks to one of the greatest servants the club has had should not be effected, it's also a chance to say a thanks to Ash in the way we never got! Still really looking forward for tomorrow!
I'n worried about the badge change next year, will it stay as it is with jus the words changed? I can see a whole new badge to be honest...
Regardless of all this, it would still be in the best interests of the club for it to own its own stadium. The Allams' nonsense is a separate debate, even if Assem's stubbornness is part of the reason the council are so hard to deal with.
I know we have got a lot to thank the Allams for and I doubt we would be where we are without them but I have always suspected their motives. I don't think they have any respect or idea of the traditions of the club (or football for that matter) or the wishes of the fans. I think their motives are purely what they can make out of the club. No idea what that is: merchandising, land/building development don't know but I think it is all based on money making? I for one feel betrayed. I thoroughly hope the fans can show their feelings of displeasure to the football watching world of this development. These money men, whether it is sport, music or whatever always need us plebs to turn up to give atmosphere to the occasion. I would not be suprised if these events are almost entirely attended in say 20 -30 years time by the 'prawn sandwhich brigade' and a few 'poor people' are aloud in for free to give the event atmosphere. They may even pay them to attend, after all that will probably be the only employment left for the working classes. This has already happened with housing, especially in London. It is out of limits to anyone with a 'proper job'.
I am off to buy shares in Reckitts as there are that many people on here today who have wet themselves there will be a massive surge in the sale of cleaning products. I have never read so much over reaction in my life....highly funny but even more embarrassing for out great City...thank **** I moved if some of you are the measure
Just noticed you are number 2 in world trends on Twitter. Canny exposure that. Still a ****s trick to change your moniker like. Get a petition going and you'll have all the support you could want I'd imagine.
****s sake SSN have just done an interview painting a picture that the fans aren't bothred, at least the presenters were giggling at the nonsense of it all.
