If Sturridge continues that form this season, against teams that aren't already on holiday then i'll give you that one..

I realluy like walcott but he is the type of player that you would like to see prerform to the level he's capable of more often. I remeber being at the Emirates with a mate once and you could almost touch the frustration among the Arsenal fans when he lokked like he was going to do something really special but either hesitated or ran into a blind alley. I sometimes think his feet are too fast for his brain (and that's more a compliment to his speed than a criticism of his intelligence!)

What I meant is that it's an effortless ability. There's a reason it's called flair. But if you want to believe the likes of Welbeck, Zaha and Sturridge are skillful because they try the odd step over, then good luck. It just goes to show who the real pleb is here. <ok>

At least Walcott is humble and doesn't try anything silky. And as for Sturridge being far better. Ahaha Shows what we're dealing with here.

He has gained far more consistency and has been on a steady upward trend for the last few seasons. He has been an important player for us for 3 years now with his most recent notching up 21 goals and 14 assists.

Sturridge will have to not only perform how he did for the second half of last season for the entirety of this season but he will have to hope Walcotts level drops off from what has been consistent improvement.

Provided Walcott doesn't pick up injuries i think he is at the level where we can expect 20+ goals a season from him as a RWF, not even a striker.

He was excellent last season - i think part of the problem is there were such high expectations around him that some people (probably me included to be fair) seem to expect more than he can always deliver.

just because they aren't as good with tricks as Ronaldo robben or ribery doesn't mean they aren't skilful. what is wrong with trying stepovers? Walcott doesn't because he would probably lose the ball. he's got pace and passing and that's about it really. I am not really bothered who is better between the two as it doesn't matter. one plays for a decent classy club with potential, the other plays for arsenal

fyi I don't rate welbeck and ive never seen zaha play <ok>

Who said anything about having to be as good with tricks as Ronaldo, Ribery, etc?
As I've already explained to you, being skillful normally requires good technique. Sturridge's technique is below par. A few flicks and stepovers will not change that. He should know his level. But can you blame him when you get idiots like you going "Wahey" whenever he tries a flick which comes of his shin? <rofl>

You're a tool. An ignorant one too. What makes things worse is that you're very vocal with your idiocy.

Reading that 'Suarez watch' on the Liverpool board, one would thing they got things under control. <laugh> My God. Would love to have seen how they were carrying themselves in that Torres saga. Does anyone remember their collective demeanour?

but you said you have to be born with skill moves and are therefore implying that practice will get you nowhere. im not bothered about skill moves at all and I don't care if sturridge is good at them. he got 10 goals in 14 for us last season so it doesn't matter. I just felt the need to point out that you can practice skill moves and eventually be extremely good at them.

    You know? Really?

Just as a matter of interest, what do you think the stats would show, if we looked at whether clubs do better or worse in a year when they make a lot of first team signings?

Where did I say anything about being "born" with skills? I said you're either skillful or you're not. Obviously practise does come into it. But some just will never get it. Just like some won't ever be as quick and athletic as Bale. Everyone has their level. Just like Sturridge has his when it comes to technique and ability. It just does my head in when people claim he's skillful when he's anything but that.

Im not saying Sturridge is a world class player and is up there with Neymar and CR7 in terms of skills I just don't agree with it when you say youre either born with it or you aren't. you are born with stuff like finishing and pace. but anyone can do tricks if you practice enough. I think we'll end this here <ok>

Just out of interest what would Arsenal fans regard as a good season? CL and a doemstic cup? A good run in Europe? A serious title challenge.? Not taking the piss here by the way - just genuinely interested to hear what you lot are hoping for this season - a few of my friends haven't been so pessimistic for years.
