Just as an aside, why is it that people are praising NCFC to the sky for maintaining a policy which in sum is "we will strengthen where we need to and can if the right players become available and at a cost we regard as sustainable and are prepared to pay", yet Arsenal, who have operated on that basis for years are ridiculed for it? Why did they not go for Soldado? Not the player they want. Ditto Higuain. The ONLY big name striker Arsenal have made a concrete bid for this summer is Suarez. That's the player they want, that's the player they are trying to recruit. But not at any price. <ok>

So what exactly are they going to do if and when they don't sign him? Is Giroud the answer? (You don't need to answer that). They've not even got the option of Gervinho now they've sold him to Roma for a loss so I just don't understand their policy this summer at all, and that's what we're taking about here <ok>

By the way apologies if some think we're going off topic here, however we are discussing summer transfers which is what this thread is called (no specific mention of NCFC in the title <ok>)

I like Hooper actually. Not because he has scored more goals but his movement and awareness is a pleasure to watch. He is also a goal poacher.

Like a Darren Bent 2.0 with added creativity.

Who can link up better with Fer will be the deciding factor I think and Ricky already has a head start in that respect as they have played together before and speak the same language. Hooper will be desperate to be number one as he has world cup aspirations.

I can't wait to see the competition for places in the striking department, it's going to be awesome. When we play lower league teams (like us) at home we may get to see them both on with Fer/Hoolahan as AM.

Dribble..........

Ha, but on a NCFC board!, why don't you guys set up a thread for it, save going off topic all the time! and subjecting us to all this talk of a team that most Canaries fans don't care about. :D

We agreed a while ago that it's for all transfers, not just NCFC.

I would also appreciate it being on another thread as I couldn't give a toss about either Arsenal or Spurs. It's one thing to mention another team's signing's, but this has gone on and on and is getting in the way. A request rather than a demand.

probably of no relevance but has anyone noticed the champions league draw? psv play ac milan for a place in the group stages! could a defeat see movement on the toivonen front? i realise he's probably off whether they qualify or not but i just wonder if it would make a difference?

Good grief that's a tough draw for a qualifier!

Nope, PSV is automatically placed for the EL group stage if they lose. Which is likely. So they still play in Europe. Norwich still doesn't. It swings the balance a bit but not much.

Anyone else seen that Oussama Assaidi has joined QPR on loan?

I'm not sure if anyone on here has seen him play, but he is very good on the ball and very attacking. I would of liked to have seen us in the mix for him.
