Allams confirm change to Hull Tigers - via HDM

No we're not. Keep reading the latest quotes, he's now saying nationally he wants us referred to as Hull Tigers as he doesn't like City. He couldn't be any clearer on this yet still some people don't see it.

The City part is remaining in as a local half appeasement to fans and it's be completely gone from all communications in 12 months. FACT.

 

Any body fancy chipping in to have a flag made to be displayed at home games? I'm sure there are a lot of sites about that make them. Something like: Common, lousy & forever HCAFC.

 

Like with Cardiff, this sets a dangerous precedent for owners doing whatever they like with their clubs. And once again I can't see what material difference it makes other than to satisfy the whims of the owner.

 

How many years of back-to-back promotions would it take to reach League Two? I'm guessing about 10?

 

Linked to my earlier theory, does anyone know if and/or how this would affect contracts, such as the one between the Club and the SMC?

If Hull City AFC have a penalty clause that binds them to the stadium, would that still be binding to Hull Tigers?

 

You need permission for such things, and obviously it would never be granted. But I have been thinking about sneaking in such stuff for the Norwich game if I attend it and I'd encourage all others to do aswell.

 

Suppose if it was a rename or a complete new company I suppose. I dont imagine they would go to all the hassle of incorporating a new company and then transferring all the players contracts across etc. More hassle then its worth, IMO.

And if you want to improve your identity you're better off doing something about the "Hull" part.

 

I wondered about sponsors. Will anyone withdraw money saying they sponsor Hull City AFC? If I was a local company I'd jump all over this. In a massive blaze of publicity withdraw sponsorship, no matter how small, and get myself on the front page of the HDM. Fans will love any company that does this and watch their reputation go through the roof.

 

I doubt it would have any effect on contracts - same contracting party albeit with a varied name

All of that is the commercial side, so that will all have been done under the Hull Tigers company.

The Hull City AFC was just the playing element, which seemingly went today.

Unless there's something that stops the 'golden share' having a name change registered with the League, there is no element of the Club that is still Hull City AFC.


I thought I'd best add. That's ll just my opinion without any inside knowledge at all.
