BR (nor myself in that post) said that Luis was available at the Cavani price, it was a passing comment. The stance all summer from Liverpool has been "he is not for sale".

Because on the whole those four players you signed were not really top class players, were they? You did try and sign one in Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and in the end you got beaten for his signature.

 

To be fair, it was more than a passing comment.
He spoke repeatedly about Arsenal not meeting their valuation of the player.

 

You see, that is why I said he may not be at Liverpool come 3rd September. I'm certain he won't go to you guys following Henry's comments but I think (hope) given the opportunity, he'll be shipped off if a foreign club comes in.

You never know though, if we made a bid he might want to come here instead ? It's got to be worth a try, the suarez deal is proving to be more hassle than it's worth. Not sure who else we'd go for to be honest.

There was some talk the other day of him maybe wanting a loan move somewhere but I think that is unlikely in my opinion. I mentioned one two other backup targets in Jackson Martinez or Muriel if we don't manage to get Suarez.

 

Suarez is the only player i'd take for our first team from Liverpool. Thats not to say there are not decent players at Liverpool, just that considering how much better our squad performed last season than yours there would not be many candidates. I know you all rate Coutinho highly but i haven't seen enough of him to warrant him getting into an Arsenal team ahead of Wilshere, Cazorla or Walcott.
