To be honest, all I heard him going on about was that Arsenal hadn't met their valuation, not that he wasn't for sale.

I think this move is a last ditch attempt to try and get Suarez to forget all about it - good luck with that - or force his hand and hand in a transfer request.

 

Henry's comment about not selling him to us because they see us as their rivals was fair enough, but the bit about not selling him to anyone was when you start to wonder about just how honest he was being. If Madrid came in tomorrow, and offered £35 Mil plus, are you seriously telling me that Liverpool still won't sell?

Let's put it this way, the only Liverpool player that would get into the Arsenal team is Luis Suarez. Hence the current affairs.

 

The RvP and the Cesc business are why I can sympathise with the Liverpudlian predicament, although with Suarez it's been taken to a whole new level with the treatment of Suarez by the club* and vice versa.

As to whether Liverpool have more power, it's hard to determine. It wholly depends on what they can get out of Suarez (should he stay), and if they can nullify any negative impact his presence may cause. Would getting £40m+ for a potential derailing influence be such a bad thing in the long run?



*which, to a large degree, has been justified.
