Rickie Lambert completes fairytale story with England call-up: http://www.givemesport.com/367199-rickie-lambert-completes-fairytale-story-with-england-callup?tg=/ [shamelessplug] My piece on Lambert's career from Liverpool and Blackpool release to Premier League football and an international call-up. Feedback and reads are appreciated! [/shamelessplug]
Surprised he is in doing interviews and photo shoots after his missus gave birth, all I remember is being completely drained and feeling like I had been hit by a bus following the birth of my little girl, hope it was a quick labour! Bet he is absolutely knackered. Model pro and all round good guy. Congratulations on both accounts Rickie!
Rickie has an excellent chance of game time as Hodgson suggests that Rooney won't play all the match. Also Welbeck had a terrible season compared to Lambert. Some people are hoping that Lambert doesn't get hurt on England duty, but I'm just praying that he doesn't get hurt on Saturday and ruin this chance.
I exploded with pride when I heard the news at work today. So, so pleased for the big man. Like Fran, I've got my fingers crossed that he comes through Saturdays game in one piece. Got a reason to watch the game now.
Scotland win Mikey. But I`m so chuffed for Rickie - a really nice bloke - what hope that gives to all players who have been passed over by `big` clubs. I really hope he plays, and plays well - what motivation it gives him to get on the plane to Brazil. Good luck Rickie !
But you could have Scotland winning 4-3, with Rickie netting a hat-trick and not a single person in the English media blaming the Saints player for the loss [geddit..?]
I want Ricky to do so well that he cannot be ignore...couldn't care if we lost to Scotland in the process.
Really hope he gets a cap...would mean so much to him. We are so lucky to have such a great player and man at our club in todays age of premadonna footballer
