Comolli? why is anything he says of interest to anyone? He spent £16m on Bentley, £18m on Henderson, £21m on Downing and £35m on Carroll....no one with that track record has anything to say that is worth listening to in my opinion
if they don't realise their mistake then yes ... thankfully at spurs we only took a beating on the Bentley deal...Liverpool look to have lost £18m on Carroll and will lose a **** load on Downing and I suspect a lot will be lost if they sell Henderson. Thats on top of money they also lost on Charlie Adam too.
He was the director of football...he had direct responsibility for identifying players and their worth
The manager identified them, he was told to go and buy them. It's not his fault that KKKing KKKenny and Juande Ramos were so insistent on signing the aforementioned **** players.
he cant be as bad as the guys who sort out the transfers down at highbury though right? 40m and a quid for luis suarez. what are you smoking?
you lot are taking your sweet merry time and tbh I thought a club of arsenals stature would appeal to suarez but I guess not. just hurry up and sign him as none of us Liverpool supporters want him. so ffs stop messing around and get it done
If that's true then that is one cushy well paid job job...where can I get one Also if that's true how come he tried to take credit for signing Suarez; Modric; Berbatov etc?
Because he brokered the deals I'm guessing. Look at the returns Spurs got on Modric and Berbatov, and what Suarez will get Liverpool, I'd be bragging too if I could double my money. I will never defend paying £35 million for Carroll, but he was probably up in Newcastle trying to negotiate, under the instructions of Dalglish who wanted a British team, Dalglish and his scouts identified Carroll and told Comolli to get the deal done. Comolli gives them a ring saying "We can get him, but Newcastle won't move on £35 million." Dalglish thinks about the £50 million from Torres, abuses his power and takes advantage of the owners false sense of security and gives the go ahead.
I think we might just not bother and leave him at anfield, you can continue to pay him 120 thousand pounds a week to insult you and call your manager dishonest.
