Basically, yes......is a sorry state of affairs. Am still holding out for a Keegan-esque surprise moment.........I may be some time.

 

Middlesbrough have signed Albert Adomah.

 

And Wigan have signed James McLean, don't think that's been mentioned. Surprised he was willing to drop down a league considering he's been a regular first-team player for Sunderland but maybe Di Canio doesn't fancy him.

 

McClean was a bit of a flash in the pan, made a surge in the second half of the season before last with plenty of desire and direct-attacking play, running at players and not being afraid to shoot, then this season teams were ready for him and he could not do the job. This is the reason I'm not yet sold on McManaman, either, although he'll probably have an easier time of it dropping down to the Championship.

Well I've heard nothing and I don't think DTLW has ever. It's all gone silent on the transfer front.

 

Christ. I'm going to guess English isn't that person's first language? If it is, it's quite appalling.

 

I'm sure Saints always have their eyes open for promising young talent, but GK not a priority at the moment. Lost all credibility when he mentioned Forecast...I'm sure I could get a game before he does.

Another goalkeeper is the last thing Saints need.

 

Looks to me like they picked a promising goalie they want to tout, then looked in the prem for the team that conceded the most goals and put them together. They had no knowledge of how Boruc settled in eventually and that our goals conceded was much better 2nd half of the season.

 

I echo these sentiments. It seems quite lazy.

Lazy seems to be the norm unfortunately. Lots of articles and previews I've seen seem to be amazed we haven't signed a goalkeeper. Unless they're particularly interested in Southampton journalists, bloggers etc don't pay close attention to us (you could say the same for most of the bottom half sides). They spend most of the year writing about the top 4 or top 6 and then it gets to August, they want to write a preview for each club in the Premier League and they remember last autumn's goalkeeping merry-go-round and assume it's still a problem.

 

Gervinho has signed for AS Roma for a fee of £7m.

It's just another scrap. But it's something!

 

We are all desperate for some news but I fear we are all done till January unless of course DTLW says differently!

 

Haven't seen him play, I just know him from FM as the white Japanese dude.

EDIT: That's a lie, I've seen him play once that I remember. I don't remember him doing anything, so that's helpful.
