I assume that it will be a partial demolition as the changing rooms will need to remain in place?

I wonder if this counts as an investment? ;)

The word is that it's to allow us to have a temporary stand. The thing is can we borrow a stand or will we have to sign it permanently?

Just keep this quiet - don't let Leeds, Leicester, Daily Mail or Hollowhead hear about it. They'll probably all assume it's another loan from Udinese...

There's bound to be some - the hanging straps for standing customers will be fed through them...

Rumour has it that Udinese have bought a second-hand Italian-built stand from Napoli but are going to ship it straight over to Vicarage Road to replace our old English built Main stand. No transfer fee is involved.

I thought that some American investors had come on board - the term 'East stand to go' certainly has that connotation...

I hope the revenue from the loan stand is included in the FFP calculation - we don't want any dodgy dealings now do we? <yikes>

From the WO:

"The concrete structure to the right of the main stand, which houses the players’ changing rooms and tunnel, will remain but the roof will be removed as well as some of the terrace area at the front of that section."

This seems to suggest that there will be no roof on the changing rooms. That will go down well with the opposition.

Although not the same as a new stand the demolition will cost a fair amount and there is no point doing it if you don't have alternatives in mind. All in all a great step forward to be doing this now rather than planning it for the future. Just the council to get past first.

I think they mean the roof of the stand. Similar to how the they did with the main stand.

It's a start - and more than has happened in a number of years. If they don't clear the area they can't build a stand on it can they? The rumour is that a temporary stand may be build.

It's a positive step and you should not deny it.
I'm fine with you giving a different perspective and being negative, I can understand it with the loss of the Old Watford we know; but you have to give them a chance and some credit for investment in both infrastructure and the team.

Any nostalgia i had for that stand disappeared once it became condemned - the sooner they pull it down and replace it with something decent the better. I do worry about the council though - they're not exactly our best friends
