Where does Wenger get these quotes from, "standby"? Are we a ****ing DVD player or something that we need to be on "standby". You'd think he's had enough of not winning anything for 8 years and having "no budget", but feels the need to be on "standby". Is he Peter ****ing Pan or something? Does he think he'll live forever? Don't worry the season is soon starting and we haven't brought anyone in yet, but never mind, we're on "standby".
Meanwhile Spurs tie up another quality signing with minimal effort. They've spent about 60 million already.... roughly what we're supposed to have in our kitty.
But which of the players they have bought would you want? Soldado is good but ageing and unproven in the league - 50/50 on him but they definately over payed i think. I'd also prefer a real top signing for up-front e.g. Suarez or Rooney. Capoue would be good for squad depth. But i wouldn't want any of the other players they have signed.
I'd take Soldado and Paulinho for our CF and CM spots. However, I'd rather we got Suarez and Gustavo. Those 2 are better than what Spurs have bought. Frankly, if we can't do better than Spurs in the transfer market, there is something wrong.
The people in charge of our transfers should be flogged. They regularly make things go to the wire which can only have a negative impact on the team. They must know that getting your business out as early as possible can only help our preparations. Take Wenger out the equation and we would have been punished for our incompetence.
I shall no longer refer to Manchester United as ManUre. As long as they keep riling Liverpool, i will show (some) respect.
Yes he's been good. Chadli has been good and Paulinho's been ok. I'm impressed more with Dembele, that guy is a rock in midfield and someone we can really do with. Top player.
To be fair, they were facing Falcao with 2 midfielders at CB. 5-2 isn't that bad considering those circumstances.
Bit late, but apparently it stands at around just under half a million a week. If we can get rid of Park and Bendtner as well then it'll be just under £600k.
