2 players and a youngster/ golden oldy for each position. That's the depth we need and the depth we're assembling now.
I don't understand why arsenal are missing their transfer targets? They've got money. They can pay the wages. what's the issue?
Also, their lack of ambition in the transfer market in the last few years coupled by the stealing of their best players could have given them a reputation as a club which lacks ambition, despite their league finishes
but that's no different to us and we've not qualified for the CL. Yet we've signed 3 very good players.
Sounds like Levy has put Perez right back in his box. Can you believe this guy? " I won't talk about money out of respect, but if you say £100mil" http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892...money-says-real-madrid-president?ICID=HP_HN_1
but we have signed decent players most summers and we have shown much fight to keep our best (modric/bale). Arsenal tend to sign cheap and develop, which works but it could also be seen by players as lacking ambition. I'm just speculating of course. Me too. My money would still be on it not being true though. If he goes for £80m or less next summer it would well be true though
but in the past, we've hardly made a net spend either, which could also be seen as lacking ambition... We've wondered whats in it for us, and what we've actually got out of it for the last year or so... there's certainly no evidence of anything? imagine if this Bale situation had been planned all year? ****ing genius.
Is good publicity no doubt. Top trend on twitter etc. PS im guessing here as to what you are alluding to - ie that Real and Spurs are doing this for the coverage?
No arguments here, it would be a genius move. BUT, it still seems a bit far fetched at the moment. On the other hand, could someone as seemingly successful as Perez really be SO stupid as to say "we don't talk about other players" after spending all summer doing it? Without an actual reason to say that i mean. I don't even understand what i mean Yes, its an elaborate theory posted on another thread. It wasn't from this board, not sure where it was from
It reads like some dialogue lifted from an old episode of Only Fools And Horses. "I 'ad nuffin' to do wiv it, Del Boy; it was only my idea."
I think if I were a rising football star and had no particular liking for anyone, my dream scenario right now would be to sign with Tottenham, become a huge star, then move on to Real. I'm not surprised players are happy to sign with us, given our recent record of producing big stars from signings. You can argue that Arsenal has done something somewhat similar, but they've gone downhill and stagnated in the last decade, whereas we've improved. I can't really believe it's a conspiracy, either. But it may be one of those accidentally on purpose kind of deals, at least from Real's side. What does Perez want to see? Hordes of reporters desperate to hear what he has to say. The Bale saga works nicely for him. But if we were playing along I'd have to give the organization an Oscar.
it would actually be BETTER if it wasn't a collusion between the 2 clubs and it is RM trying to get Bale and we're just milking the media hype for our benefit.
Fair points RWAEB, but wouldn't say arsenal have gone downhill. I think it's more about the improvements of City and Chelsea since being taken over, and the knock of affect of fortunes being spent.
Anyone else head that beeping sound? It's Bale's agent's new Ferrari being backed -up into the showroom.
course it's far fetched, but it's a very clever theory, which could be true. why has Perez stopped? Because Levy has said "thank you, enough is enough, we're going to sort his contract out now. but cheers for raising our profile as part of the "commercial relationship" part of our agreement. - now i'm going to report you for tapping up. Haha, only kidding Florentino, enjoy the rest of your summer". sounds like wishful thinking, but i'm really struggling to work out what the **** we get from this agreement otherwise.
