I was driving home and they said three teams would win the league: Man United, Man City and Chelsea. After those top three its between Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton and Swansea.... for finishing fourth! Another two people, after Redknapp, thinks we are a team to watch this season. It seems a long time ago when we were losing to the likes of Brentford by three goals to two. What a difference ten years makes.
man utd wont be in the top 4, chelsea will be runaway winners this season in my opinion, Man city will be there or there about but it wont be a foregone conclusion that they will be second, Arsenal if they get suarez could take second from them. Man utd have not had a good pre-season to what you expect that their standards have been showing and should spurs lose bale then i don't fancy their chances either. all the top teams with the exception of arsenal have new managers so its going to be interesting and very wide open this season the most open season for years..Still chelsea i think look strong and with the special one will probably win the title.
Utd still my pick for the title. Especially when they add Fellaini and Ronaldo to the team. Won't be surprised if they get him within a few says of Bale signing for Madrid.
I am loving all the 'Swansea could finish top 5 or 4' etc.. But that would mean we would have to displace either Man U, man city, Chelsea, arsenal or spurs. Don't get me wrong we can compete with these teams on the pitch, but our club is still someway behind when building up the consistency to win week in week out. Liverpool, Everton and Newcastle I would consider the teams we are able to finish ahead of this season. And even that is no easy task.
Hah, Real would never sell Ronaldo. They're never going to need the money and they'll never want him at another club.
He's only got 2 years left and apparently refusing to sign a new deal. Would also explain why Madrid are desperate to sign Bale. Ronaldo didn't confirm the other day when asked about his future that he will be at Madrid next season.
They can afford to force him to stay with the money they have lying around...he's just signed a new deal as well.
Has it been confirmed in sources other than that Marca newspaper? Because his interview was the day after that story was in their paper I think.
I am sticking with Man City as my pick for champions (unless Rooney signs for Chelsea!!) with us to finish 6th.
I think it will go to the wire between Chelsea and Man City - a point or two to seperate them. Man Utd 3rd, Spurs 4th with Bale or if they sell then Arsenal for 4th. I think this season is going to be quite tight after the top 4-5 teams. Newcastle will want to push on after a poor season but with a talented squad. Everton could go either way but should be competitive with the defence they have. Norwich and Soton have strengthened quite substantially and both look much more dangerous than last year. Villa are in a rebuilding phase but will get better this year as the youngsters gain more experience, plus Benteke is a beast! I can see Fulham and West Brom fading a little unless they make some pretty impressive signings. Liverpool should gain more points than last year and no doubt Brenda will put himself in the media spotlight more than Paris Hilton armed with a boob job, sextape, baby, heroin habit and bankruptcy could ever muster. The new teams don't look too clever and I would be surprised if they don't all go down. Not wishing it on them or anything (well maybe one team!) but just can't see them being strong enough, especially Palace. As far as we go Europe is bound to cause us some fixture fatigue and games against the Champs League sides will be hard as they will have an extra day to recover. If we can stay were we are I will be happy. We have a squad good enough to push on but we have lots of new players who will need to gel and this might cost us some points. It will be an interesting season and the competition for Europa League spots will probably be more fiercely contested by more teams than even the CL spots. The second string of teams (Everton, Liverpool etc through to last seasons 12-13th position) will be a very tight affair.
I'm surprised people are picking Chelsea for the title, after all they haven't got any decent strikers
